Think it might be Clint.Kind of surprising since Clint said last year he supports gay marriage.Clint does not come off as a Republican by today's definition. Maybe they are paying him a lot of money.

Oh god, let the hologram Reagan be true. Oh please, oh please, let it be true. I've been good. I deserve to live in a world where a hologram Reagan is created to speak at the Republican National Convention in lieu of any real person.

A few years ago the Right thought was a traitor over his Iwo Jima movie. They are a forgiving group.

Few years? This year they thought his Superbowl halftime commercial was a plug for Obama and they hated him.

Oh then there was that hole euthanasia theme in his film MILLION DOLLAR BABY. Conservatives were nuts over the outcome in that film.

Then last year Clint came out for gay marriage.

So,I am not entirely sure why they are embracing Clint except the right has no one on their side when it comes to Hollywood.

Clint still wears a Hollywood 'outsider' role like a badge of honor. Whenever there is an Oscar season with a film of his it will be beaten like a dead horse how hard it was for a studio to produce his film.

The man was Mayor of Carmel as a Republican and has been on record saying he thought the last great American President was Eisenhower.

Million Dollar Baby was very much celebrated in libertarian circles which is likely where Clint stands politically, hence him supporting gay marriage and socially liberal causes.

And as much as Gran Torino could be seen as reflection of a post-Fordist Detroit (and he probably shot that commercial in gratitude of getting on-location rights to the city in that film), it is also very problematic in its race relations from the stereotypes to the noble savage role his character assumes in such BS cowboy fashion-- almost to grab back his Dirty Harry audience than be accused of outdoing Michael Moore with a fictionalized 'Roger & Me'. I didn't hate the film but it could have been so much better.
