re: Who Needs A Mojito Time? ( Part 6 - total decadence)

Let me tell you.. I had a big party for my 40's. It wore me out. Last year I begged for it to go by quietly. It kind of didn't and I was upset. I prefer to just go out of town on my birthday and get away. Something that is not possible because Iris works for one of the film festivals that always seems to open on the same day. If it is a nice day.. I will play hooky and go to the beach.. if it isn't..a movie or something.. but that is it.

That does sound nice... do something YOU want to do on your birthday. But one should always acknowledge its existence.

I've been doing something big for the past few years, but not necessarily a party. This year I went on a ski trip with friends.

Liotte;
Wait till you get old like me and people start insisting it needs to be a big celebration. It gets old very fast.

My ex didn't really like birthdays, so for 11 years my b-days were very mellow... just the 2 of us out to dinner kind'a thing.

So I guess I'm making up for lost time.

I also make sure to plan my birthdays... I don't want to hope that someone else plans something for me. Except for the year my best friend (FidoRock) surprised me with a trip to Portland with some other friends. And I had already been planning something for the day, but he was conspiring behind my back. re: Who Needs A Mojito Time? ( Part 6 - total decadence)

What happens when I plan is that other people insist on ruining my plans. I also used to have a co-worker that would tell all my clients it was my birthday and then the day would be anything but quiet. ( he is now gone )

uh-oh... I think I just opened a can of worms on the main board... well, I didn't open it, but I responded to a post that I'm sure will make me no friends.
