Hey, harris. How are those cows keeping?
Rath, a few days ago I was in LA - the last day of six weeks in the United States. It was 96 degrees. Today, I'm home and it is not likely to get beyond 54. It is a little shock to the system.

Yikes!
What is the temperature usually like there now? 54 seems quite reasonable to me, but if you're not used to it, I would imagine it's uncomfortable.

Well, our winters are more of the dull grey variety. We don't get snow in the cities. We just get very cold winds and grey skies. Mid 40s - mid 50s is the norm.
I no longer have my body's thermostat set correctly.

I've missed most of our winter. So, I'm not the best to ask.
This year has been unusual, though. We have been in drought for a few years. I don't think any records cold temperatures have been reached, either. But, I just don't know for sure. I was enjoying New York's warm, wet summer, Florida's stunning heat and humidity and Hawaii's perfection. I really, cannot complain. I just need some warm jammies and fuzzy slippers.

I thought you might have heard.
I have friends there who have complained about bitter cold. I just am not sure what that means for them. It gets below 0 here, so 50s to me is springlike.

We had the most annoying basesball game - 3 hours for five innings. TORTURE, but C8 pitched and they won!!!!
Hot here today. Yard work on the agenda and then Dr. Doolittle.

Posted: 7/29/06 at 12:45pmChicago weather must be grueling. We have had it pretty bad for the last two weeks. But today appears to be slightly cooler. As soon as his majesty awakens.. we are headed for the beach.

I was at a pool...but no beach today.
The humidity IS excruciating, though.
