I've lost many a DVD to lending...
As for your MARCH OF THE PENGUNS...I have a vague idea.

*sigh* One of my favorite people on the planet - Roger Federer - is playing in a tennis tournament over in the Palm Springs area starting Monday, and I'll be out of town for the whole thing!
Perfect, perfect night... which may or may not have involved in my cousin and best friend getting together. Oops. But came back from dinner with friends to find a 50+ friend surprise party set up. Plus my best friend flew in as a surprise... And of course, I cried... but it was great!
Glad to hear your party was a blast. It's always great when your friends take the time to do something that really shows they care.
New York City Countdown-6 days!
LG- how was it a surprise party if you knew that people were setting it up beforehand?

I told my wife that I would kill her if she ever through me a surprise party!
We had a great night out with friends. The girls were irritated that we got home so late, I guess they lost their precious Saturday night computer time.
Every day in this house is busy, so another long day ahead. No singing this morning.

Does that mean they can't use the computer unless you're there? I wish more parents did that - with television, too!

There should always be singing!
I thought it was just going to be a tiny gathering. They set me up for that. But it wasn't. They kind of rock. I have to go to work now. Oy
Good Morning everyone!! Today is much closer to what I had in mind for Florida weather. Not exactly beach weather, but better than NJ.
Cool pics DD!
Good morning hussys. Just had a gret hike in Mulholland . What is everyone up to today?

DAME: Jealous of your hike! No-one will ever go with me, and I don't really like going alone.
I have rehearsal in about an hour. Those are my plans for the day.
Erika.. i love going alone. I put my ipod on and i am in my own little universe. try it. there are plenty of other people there on their own. It is very safe.

DAME: You know, I've thought about investing in an ipod for just that reason... But I don't go on Mulholland... I do
Fryman Canyon. I guess as long as I go during the daylight hours, it should be safe. (Although my friends and I have seen some unsavory-looking guys hiding in the brush before. Creepy! Of course, they probably were just taking a leak. hehe)
I used to go all the time with friends, but they all have little kids now, and aren't interested/don't have the time.
OK, maybe I will. I need to get off my butt and get some excercise anyway.
I prefer Fryman Canyon. But I find that on weekends parking there is torture. But both places are safe. It should not stop you from going alone. And Erika.. you should get a ipod. For you it is a tax deduction.
I slept for 11 hours. Wow.
Getting ready for brunch and Chita Rivera!!!
DD.. did you get your car detailed? expect a full Chita Rivera report. We ar goingon the 25th.
Car gets serviced and detailed on Tuesday. The front bumper needs to be replaced. It seems they hit something at some point.

DD: Hey! Haven't checked the thread in a while... I take it they found your car?
DAME: OK, then! I didn't realize an ipod was deductible. I knew CD's, mp3's, etc were, but not the gear itself. (I thought that was an "asset." Huh. Anyway, you've inspired me. Cool!
Erika.. you are in the "profession". You use your ipod for work and for research. GOT IT?
Yes, Erika. They found it on Thursday. I got it back on Friday... very excited. Wasted no time and went skiing yesterday (see previous page for a couple of pix)

DAME: Er, I realize that. I'm not a fool, and I have been filing taxes as a performer for years. But our tax attorney always told us that any gear (our recording equipment, computers, stereos, amps, instruments, etc.) was not deductible, because they are considered ASSETS. However, CD's, DAT tapes, sheet music, scripts, batteries, strings, cords, costumes, makeup, tickets to shows, etc., ARE deductible. Perhaps the rules are different for a business than an individual. Whatever. It's only like $100 or anyway. :-P
DD: Woo-hoo! I'm so happy for ya, and I'm gonna go check out the pics now.
Hey Erika -- yes, get an iPod. It's an essential.
Erika.. I know your not a fool. I didn't mean that. But since you are obviously one of the last ones to get a ipod.. I was just reminding you.

Shira: LOL! OK, I will.
And fwiw, I'm thinking we're just caught up in the semantics between a DEDUCTION and a DEPRECIATED ASSET.
