DG, I love that story! L has spoken of Jesse many times!
I know he is happy, I've talked to him quite a few times since he left NYC. But he promised that one day, he will be back.
Glad you got to talk to him, he is a great guy and I'm proud of him for finding such success.

He really is very engaging and seemingly down to earth - so far. You KNOW what LA does to people
What does LA, like, do to people?

Our Bee closes soon and my wife today quoted the closing date! She is the Equity actor and does not pay attention to the business like I do!
When he performed at Don't Quit Your Night Job a few months ago, he made fun of his new "LA tv star" self. (there is a video on youtube if you want to see)
I still need to go to DQYNJ one day. But I don't yet know what my March plans are as of yet.
For V-Day, Caldwell gave me an iPod. He said I can use it for music AND photos.
But I am so old, I don't even know how it works. This is shameful.

Miss P - My photos are in albums, and my music is on CD (except for what I still have on tape and - *gasp* - album!) and they work just fine
Shira, yes you do! There is one March 12. But come end of April, you will have many more chances to check it out.
Miss P, even you can figure out how to use an ipod!
DG, I still have vinyl!!!

Miss P - I'm getting ready to transfer things to CD that I can't get anywhere else. This might take awhile
At this point, what can you not get anywhere else?
Here's something I have yet to find on anything but vinyl:
Vladmir Nabokov reading from Lolita.
Ha! I defy you to find that!!!

I lost all of my vinyl in a move many years ago, I have hundreds of CDs that are sitting there waiting for the transfer to digital.
I think I have transferred most of my CDs at this point. I have a few mix tapes sitting around, I need to get the songs so I can put them on my ipod. All my records from my childhood are at home in CA, somewhere.
L, YOU had vinyl?????
If so, then I don't feel as old as I did an hour ago.

I do not have anything at my parent's house. For years I had a box of junk that I took away a few years ago.

Oh, Liotte - you'd be surprised what there is! For one thing, there're a whole bunch of independent recordings of things that we were involved in (mostly theatre productions.) And there are MANY bands or solo artists that no one would ever THINK to put on CD.
You have to realize how many things have ever been recorded. They're only going to transfer what they think will sell - and we're talking about 'bygone days,' which only mean something to people who aren't the 'target market'!
Yes, but, DG, I have to tell you something rather eerie.
My first husband owned an independent record store. I used to get all sorts of cool things. (He bought and sold used albums, too.) I got an old album once called "Jerry Lewis Sings." Well, it was just about as awful as you might think it would be.
The other day I was on a website that sold hard-to-find CDs and guess what was there? I couldn't believe it. Now, why would ANYONE would want to buy an album of Jerry singing let alone a CD????
Where's the market???? Where's the market????
I had (have?) Free To Be You And Me, and a Sesame Street album with Ernie's rubbie duckie song. And a record with a song that went "Sing, sing a song, sing out loud, sing out strong. Don't worry if it's not good enough for anyone else to hear, just sing, sing a song."
They are all available on CD. But not Nabokov!!!
Vinyl? Wow...
Got my table and one chair done. Now to do some work.
When I'm finished, I'll take a picture! I've been trying to find one online, but the company doesn't seem to exist online.
I need new pub chairs for the kitchen, DD. You're inspiring me (yet again).
My mom is being a bitch. I need a drink.
