I have a client based in Phoenix, I should plan a trip to coincide with the Cubs spring training.

Do the Cubs Spring train in Phoenix or Tucson? I thought it was Tucson, but I really don't know. And either way, it's very easy to get back and forth between them!

Mesa which I assume is near Phoenix.

It is, brd. Mesa is Mormon territory in those parts (it's on the eastern side of Tempe.)
The Mariners are in Peoria, which is also nearby, no? Ah... the Cactus League.

Peoria lies northwest of Phoenix - that's actually where our friends have moved, and where we stay now when we visit.
Phoenix really is becoming LA East.
as opposed to East LA.
The only reason I'm vaguely familiar with the area now is that we have an office in Tempe and I've been working on maps for various projects out there.

It is absolutely EXPLODING out there - easily the fastest growing metro area right now - and it's already number six in the country!
They've also suffered a MAJOR slowdown, though. Lots of empty houses... development has actually stalled. (that's what we do and we're hurting)
They just canceled Hubby's flight home from Pittsburgh. I am not a happy Tink right now!
Sorry tink... and really sorry for him for being stuck in an airport.
I have a friend traveling today to N. Carolina. I hope he made it there ok.

This weather system is brutal.
*knocks on wood*
I have never been stranded in an airport. It would not be a pretty picture.

Neither have I. I have been delayed for several beers.
I have been delayed for several beers.
I like that!
I got stuck in Atlanta forever, and it was a horrible weekend to begin with, so being stuck in the airport was brutal.
He's on a line of 30 people trying to find out what's going on, oy!
I hope he gets home soon...

Hours delay in LAX after a drunken wedding weekend was not fun.
he should just get a rental car and start driving. I think it is a 5 - 6 hour drive, but by the time they get him a new flight, etc. it may take up the same time.
Thank you for your thoughts!
Well... that would involve driving in this weather.
Around here it is fine now, just really cold. Most of the roads are all clear. grrrrrr
I'm not usually cuddly/needy but when I'm sick, I get bad! So this week I'm really sick, he's gone, and it's V-day....bad combination! lol
I have spent quite a few overnights in airports, it really sucks.
The streets are slushy and gross here, walking around the city is hard since the snow is melting. It is slippery and the piles of dirty mud at every corner are hard to manuever.
He is on standby for a flight into Newark at 5:45, which wouldn't be so bad. But he is currently booked on an 8:30 pm flight into Laguardia....I really hope he gets this stand by flight.
Thanks, L.
I still haven't dug out the cars, oops! oh well.
