That's pretty cool, I should say.
I think my new found obsession with "The Last 5 Years" cast recording and story is becoming unhealthy, lol! Brings back fond memories of my teenage years with RENT, except I had actually seen that on stage.

MT, I also went through a L5Y obsession. My wife HATES it. There will be a local production that I will try to catch soon.
Broadwaysinger was in a production in Wisconsin, I wish I could have seen it.
My cast recording collection has grown considerably in the last 6 months most of which were new to me. I went through my spirts with a few of them, but none have intrigued me as much as this has, I don't get it. My hubby runs whenever he enters a room with showtunes, lol. My sister-in-law liked a few songs though. I liked Scott/Butz beforehand, but I think this is my favorite thing either has done.
I would love to see anytype of production of this. I saw some clips on you know where, and it looked phenomenal. You must let me know your thoughts on the production you see.

Jason Robert Brown was on the panel last night at the ASCAP workshop. He's always interesting to talk to - you just have to stand back a little bit - he's VERY animated! His new musical 13 is doing well, it seems.

I also love Songs from A New World, in fact in honor of JRB, I will listen to it now.

I can't say I respond well to his songs, but that's just a taste thing. He's a seriously capable keyboardist, which always grabs my attention - and he has a wickedly intelligent sense of humor.
DG - that's awesome! I will have to look into both of those productions.
My GodSpell Cd should be arriving today (Shoshana/Barrett Foa version). I was in this production twice, and I hated it for many years because of that, but over time my heart has softened to it again. I also really like a few of the now name actors who were in this version so I can't wait to check it out.
DG.. The restored Star Is Born with one additional scene since thee last restoration is playing tonight at the Egyptian.
I must say I've never been the biggest fan on L5Y. But I do truly enjoy Songs For A New World -- I saw a great production at the Rubicon Theatre a couple years ago.

DAME - I would LOVE to see that - but we're already booked with friends Are you going?
Oooh, have fun DAME. The last time I was there was for a panel discussion with Debbie Reynolds and a viewing of "Singin In The Rain"

Shira - so that was one of the three movies you had ever seen before we met?
*blushes*
That would be correct.

And NOW look at her, Shira the Movie Whore!
*tears* I'm so proud
Just take out the "Movie" part and you've figured me all out.
I did tell you I caught up on most of Marilyn Monroe movies, right?
Gentlemen Prefer Blondes
Seven Year Itch
How To Marry A Millionaire
Bus Stop
There's No Business Like Show Business
And now...I have to get through the rest of them! Time will tell.
I still have never seen a Marilyn movie...I really need to get my ass moving
Wow. I thought I had been the only one!
*dramatic sigh*
Oh, Tink! How could you?
I've also never seen Gone With the Wind, Casablance, Star Wars, and a whole slew of other "classic" movies. One day I swear (well maybe not Star Wars)

Oh my, Tink, we need to talk!
Eh, I haven't seen those either. But I did see "Star Wars: Empire Strikes Back". I think, anywway.

It's hard to fit these in between Law & Order, school, work...and Will & Grace on Netflix.
Besides -- I don't want to watch them by myself, and nobody loves me enough *sniff* to watch them with me. *sniff sniff*
Well I'm trying to catch up on all the Broadway musical/movies out there so that has been taking up all my time! If I switch my efforts to other classic movies, I will get a stern talking to for not seeing the Broadway classics. Can't you see I just can't please all of you no matter how hard I try? **sobs and dramatically throws herself to the ground**
Tink! I have the entire R&H collection of DVD. Still in it sealed packaging (I know, I know).
*lays down on white silk chaise lounge a glass of white wine by her lips, scarcely touched...* Oh, life is so much the burden!
