I feel like that snow person today.
Sorry brdy. Blahrry Mary?
Ok, I'm home and my amazon package finally came in, so I am now a happy camper! I'm so happy now I might just make dinner tonight (big emphasis on might)!
Has Liotte been around? I see no All Shook Up Thread and she just saw the tour this weekend.
I'm here. What's up?
How were the shows? Did you have fun? Was Susan Anton still in? Has she improved?
yay L's back!!!
Shows were excellent, I really miss it on broadway. Had a great time all weekend. Susan Anton has definitely improved, the whole cast has. They aren't coming close to NYC again, so no clue when I am going to see it next. Someone is joining the cast that I HAVE to see, so I will take a plane somewhere this spring to see it.
Isn't it coming to Los Angeles? How were the houses? Meet anyone from BWW? Did you go to any sultry bars and take a walk on the wild side?
It is in Costa Mesa May 29-June 10. I was going to be in LA the weekend before that, might have to change plans around a bit. The audience really seemed to enjoy the show. I didn't meet anyone from BWW. And no bars, sorry. I'm still pretty sick, so just took it easy.
Sorry to hear your still not feeling better. I hope you get better soon. Iris and I have been to lots of theater lately. We just got tickets to go see Chita Rivera. It will be interesting to see what changes they have done to the show. We last saw it when they were trying it out in San Diego. I understand it changed for the worst when they took it to NY and now they have reworked it a lot again. It seems to be getting good reviews on the road.
I just need to get to a doctor to get some antibiotics, I've just been busy or lazy and don't do doctors anyway.
I saw Chita here in NYC and was very impressed with her. The show itself wasn't anything super fantastic, but I'm glad I went.
DAME, will you see ASU when it is in LA? (you too, DG, YWIW, and erika!)
I just got a discount code for the Pirates of Penzance tickets I bought last week...go figure!
Maybe. It would have to be on a week night because we have plans that weekend. I love that theater. It is a two hour drive from us. But it is worth it.
That sucks tink. Sorry!
Back home after a lovely dinner at some random French place in Midtown...homework time!
It's that far away? Oy.
I have a lot of random theater events in the next couple of weeks. Only actual show is Les Miz in mid-March, and Bee, of course.
I want to see if anyone from the boards is going to see the Wicked tour this weekend, but I'm afraid to post that on the main board, lol! But after this weekend all I have is the Pirates at the end of March. =( I have to change that.
Yeah.. it is far. We usually go to matinees because the drive is easier. But I like getting there early because one of the nicest malls in the nation is right across the street. It is called South Coast Plaza. You need a few hours there.
I'd rather use my money to see the show 5 times in one weekend than use it at the mall!
And Tink, maybe you can post about Wicked on the FL board? Or search if there is a post about the tour somewhere?
Oh I never buy anything there. I love the restaurants and the eye candy. The stores themselves are a little to Gucci Pucci for me.
There is a FL board??? I'm confused.
**Edit** I just found it, wow I never knew any of those existed!
I know I can search, but I am always scared to mention anything Wicked on the main board. I don't feel like dealing with the bickering.
There are plenty of days I don't feel like dealing with the main board about anything!
I rarely get in a shopping mood, even window shopping doesn't appeal to me so much.
The thing is Liotte.. there really is nothing else to do around that theater.. and traffic in L. A . is so unpredictable that if one is driving there it is a good idea to give yourself a few hours to play with just in case. A two hour drive to orange County can easily become a 4 hour drive if there is any kind of minor accident. So we always give ourselves plenty of time . Which means we usually end up in the mall.
When I go to the theater, I always give myself extra time. If the show starts at 8, I leave my apartment at like 7:45 just to make sure I have extra time to walk there in case I can't cross the street or want to stop for a bite to eat on the way. :)
