I loathe Marc Cherry and Desperate Housewives. And it says here Mr. Cherry hit Nicolette Sheridan on the set of that stupid ass show.
"[H]e allegedly brought down his hand on her after she questioned something in the script."
The One Where Marc Cherry Slapped Edie In The Face
We weren't there. We don't know what happened. All speculation...
I heard he is nasty. But she is also a total bitch.

An accusation is not speculation. It's a charge.
I stand corrected. My point being, none of us where there - we don't know what did or didn't happen.
A very dear friend of mine has been friends with Marc for over 25 years and has nothing but kind things to say about him. Who knows?
True Namo. That is still a ridiculous amount of money she is suing for. Will be interesting to see how this unfolds. More interesting than Housewives. That's for sure.
It's absurd for what she is suing for. If it was so traumatic, why did she wait so long?
They will probably settle - as that will cost less than to go to trial.

if true. everyone gets pushed to the brink. i think it would hardly be just a question of script.
i believe you if you say marc is a real sweetheart from what you know.
i also think nicolette is a supreme bitch.

It is never, ever, ever cool for a man to hit a woman. Even if the man is a woman himself.
Certain women should be struck regularly, like gongs.

No woman deserves to be struck by Marc Cherry.

Interesting that this pops up right before the May sweeps.
I'm so cynical.

Cynical? I say you're a realist.

I agree with never hit a woman rule, but it does come with certain ambiguities.
For example: you, Sarah Palin, and Ann Coulter are in a room.
They are directing their shrill harpie rhetoric at you.
What do you do?
(Trick question! Obviously you just walk out and set the room on fire.)
Okay, I do agree with no hitting a woman ever. I don't advocate violence. I was not saying Marc had the right to hit her. If a woman wallops a man very hard first, does he have the right to restrain her?
I have seen this double standard arguement a lot.
I remember getting angry at Whoopie when watching her defend Chris Brown in her way. At first, "well, we don't know what happened" then..."she could have hit him first, we weren't there" okay, even still, did she not see the photos of her face?

I think Culture Club put it best when they sang, "War, war is stupid, and people are stupid..."

But it's ok to hit a man, right?
This is a ridiculous argument. Always has been and always will be. It's not ok to hit ANYONE. If a woman is attacking you, yes it's ok to hit her same as if it were a man.
And Namo, Culture Club ALWAYS has the answers to lifes questions. :)

No hitting anyone. Ever. The person who raises a fist has lost the argument.
But, Taz, setting fire to a room that contains Ann Coulter or Sarah Palin is permissible. If it contains BOTH OF THEM, it's mandatory.

That's not funny, Reginald. Next thing I know you'll be telling that joke
"What do you tell a woman with two black eyes?"
"Nothing, you already told her twice."
See. Not funny. I mean, not hilariously funny.
Not the same at all, Jordan. It's a pun on a famous Noel Coward line. But I'll delete it since you were offended.
LOL. I was kidding! Trust me, it takes a LOT to offend me.
I'll just have to try harder.
