That too!

Though I stuck with wine tonight after all. How do you think Gin with a splash of Pomegranate juice on the rocks would tase?

orangeskittles, orangekitties, oranges, orange, OS, skittles

Those are the only ones I can remember, I've gotten a bunch. Ironically, I've never had a nickname in real life.

re: Who is Who on BWW?

brd - I TRULY appreciate your frustration, as I think, like me, your approach to this forum is honest and sincere. There are also many others who fall in that category, and you've already identified a couple of them.

It is an unfortunate fact that not everyone is approaching this endeavor with that same mentality, making it a little difficult for those of us who simply don't want to waste time with games.

I personally rely on the few whom I have had the pleasure of actually meeting to serve as a foundation, upon which I build what is basically my 'web of trust'. If I've met you and know who you are, then that's full acceptance. If I've met you and you tell me that you vouch for someone I haven't met, then that gets marginal acceptance. Other than that, I take EVERYTHING at face value.

Too many for too long have perpetuated childish and borderline pathological games in this forum, and you really have to just step back and take it with a grain of salt. If they have so little respect for themselves, they certainly aren't going to extend any to anyone else - especially if they are simply asked to.

Work at building a base - you really CAN tell sometimes who means what they say and who doesn't - and go from there.

Again, I sympathize. It asks for much more energy than conscietious adults should have to expend in this endeavor. Never-the-less, the idiots and malcontents show no sign of abating, so all we can do is try to find a way to work around them - and hope that they will be as frustrated by something they find of value in the future.

Brdlwyr, you got me pegged already, I'm just me!

re: Who is Who on BWW?

That really does seem to be the best way to take it DG. It is such a new form of communication and subject to the whims of those who are here that it is very hard to gauge unless you have "verification."

I really don't understand the appeal of just being an idiot, although it is understandable that some people are a bit different in their online persona than in real life. I don't want to be that way, and don't think I could if I wanted to, but for some it seems to be the whole point.

The other thing I can't do is totally disconect, real or not I have some people here I am close to. And someone misrepresenting or disrespecting them (or me)leads to me being just as angry as I would be if the same thing happened in life.
I stand corrected, you are as vapid as they say.

re: Who is Who on BWW?

Kringas - you made me laugh - both for your post AND your sig quote!

Penguin - When I had to change my account here, I actually tried for a moment to post under an anonymous identity. Not only was it a ridiculous waste of time, but people saw right through it immediately - especially the originator of this thread re: Who is Who on BWW? I am who I am - warts and all, and that's pretty much the only way I could stand it.

To my way of thinking, anyone who plays these games really isn't worth paying attention to - at least not in the way that I approach this board - or really my life in general.

So, what happened tonight? There are a lot of clues all around that something went down but I can't piece it together.

I am boring Ole SirLiir. Though now I wished I picked a more universal name.

re: Who is Who on BWW?

Kringas, this thread is partially inspired by BSO's decision to delete the Idol thread that he created. I do not have any details on that. But, who is who is an obsession of mine.

Who is Sammy2? Does anyone know him?

re: Who is Who on BWW?

There are a few people I really consider and take seriously on this board. Many of them have just recently posted on this thread (except for Patronus, Elphaba and a couple of others).

Some poeple on this board freak the crap out of me, and if I had a small child, I would not leave him or her alone with them (I think I would not even let them feed my cats).

Others seem to get their jollies by acting cruel or eliciting reactions from folks. I do my best to ignore them, but sometimes they do get the better of me. Some just self-promote or seem to be one step shy of reality.

Others are just decent people who I don't know too well, but seem to have one identity and a good reputation on the board.

I figure you start out lurking a bit, and then you figure out who is worth your time and attention.

The others, well, you just don't waste the bandwidth on them.

re: Who is Who on BWW?

Well I'm just fat fat fat and ugly Jane. (the 2 is not necessary-I must have been the second Jane to join, although I never see the first Jane posting.) I see this message board as a source of fun, and if it ceases to be fun for me, that's when I'll stop. I have no expectations but if I do make a real friend here, that's great.

Jane's so fat she should have two identities.
