Proving that intolerance is not limited to the American far right, the people of Switzerland recently passed a referendum banning the construction of any new minarets. A minarets is the tower of a mosque, and is used to call the faithful to prayer.
Seems like it's becoming trendy to use a referendum to deny basic rights.
