It does appear that someone fell asleep on the job and the inmates got hold of the keys. Shall we stage a version of King Of Hearts?
i admit it. it was me. i've been working out and i felt all chief-like, so i tossed the fountain through the window and galloped into history. i didn't think any of them would follow. sorry. but spilled milk, or broken glass.

Papa darling, isn't the chief supposed to be silent?
DGrant, Have you seen Cosi with Toni Collette? It's a similar type of story and a very good movie.
chief-like, nina. i've never done silence so good.
Extra cookie crumbs to the person who can name the failed Broadway Show that I referenced in the title of this thread.
Here are a couple of hints:
It is a legendary flop.
It starred a woman who later starred in one of the composer’s greatest successes.
The composer also wrote Sweeney Todd, Company, A Little Night Music, Follies, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum. As well as the lyrics to Gypsy (one of Ethel Merman's greatest hits)
Extra points if you can name both the composer and the star of the show.
omg, sueleen, puh-leeeeze. you're not even trying. stephen fletcher could hum this.

Nina - No, I haven't. I just looked it up and it looks wonderful - besides, I LOVE Toni (and Mozart!)
I'm pretty sure I know where I can find a copy, so I'll definitely check it out.
Nice to 'see' you, by the way
everyone knows it's ANYONE CAN WHISTLE and Angela Lansbury...but there was also Lee Remick....and there's soon to be a production at the Harold Prince Theatre in Philly...
i saw the Philly production. OY VEY. What a mess. A book that's incomprehensible with mediocre talent on stage. Nice score though (thanks again Stephen!)
i'd like to see it regardless, never seen it staged.
Ours not to reason why. Ours but to do or die! Sgt. Magruder reporting, SIR!
hey Magruder, long time no type. Who's the hottie in your new pic?
barely staged. more a 'concert reading', with no scenery. The cookies all disbursed into the audience at various times, with two sitting next to me (no WONDER those fifth row seats were empty.) They shook/stared maniacally for 20 minutes. Was i amused? Not so much.
Anyone Can Whistle at Ravinia this summer -- always worth a trip to Chicago!
LuPone seems to be making her way through the Sondheim canon and likes Ravinia as well...is she scheduled as the Mayoress?
And more importantly, KMF (what DOES that stand for?!?!) are all the spots on your picnic blanket already spoken for? i pack a mean basket...and i can cook, too...
You guys are quick! But no one has named the composer yet. Here is another clue:
His initials are S. S. and it's not Stephen Schwartz!
Come on now...
LuPone loves Ravinia -- I have gone to Chicago for all of the concerts -- my best friend lives outside of Chicago....there is always room on the blanket!
one of my oldest, sweetest, hottest friends lives in Chicago. When i was in Iowa, i went there at least three times a year. i really miss it, but not in the winter!
Never been to Ravinia, however...
strom thurmond? no, damn that's a t...
No, and it's not Sally Struthers, either.
Papito, i don't get it. i'm slow today. Can you get all remedial on me?
