brdlwyr,
Costco was busy. I spent $200.00 for this party. And I don't think I got enough. But I decided I am going to delegate some. People keep asking if they should bring something. Tonight ; I decided they can. I am making a list.

I heart costco! But I've been shopping too much lately, and therefore Costco might be too dangerous.

The cleaning lady is coming tomorrow and then she is coming back on Sunday. These parties are wearing me out.

True, we had Thanksgiving at my house for years for all of those who did have family in Chicago, and all brought their family traditions to the dinner.

My lover through me into that step. Before we got together my house was so clean and so new because I never had more than two people over for Dinner. Then here comes my lover... a midwest boy who is used to the idea of his home being sort of a open house for everyone. I had to make him snap out of that one if he was going to live with me. But the sacrifice I make is these huge parties where my house gets trampled on and lived in.

My mother gave up on our house. When my bro's girlfriend came, she asked our cleaning lady to come in an emergency. "God forbid she sees our house like this". For the family, whatever. For her, the world!
My kitchen is disguting -- note, never share a kitchen with 4 girls. It's aweful!

Dame, Midwest? where? We have slowed down recently, but we had dozens of very large parties for years, I love them!

I used to hate how my parents always made me clean up for the housekeeper.

Liotte -- I just didn't get clean sheets! If I didn't clean my room, oh well!

I grew up in a small town in Kansas. We did not have a house keeper!

Shira, I am one of ten kids. We grew up as hicks in a small Kansas town.
My father's father died in 1937 because of TB. My grandmother raised 5 kids on her own during the depression. My father enlisted in WW2 in 1945 at age 17.
Growing up I never felt poor and my parents encouraged us to be the best we could be.
Yes, we cleaned our house!
