The fates are working against me.
Last night, I decided I would try a mojito since everyone here loves them so much. I went to two bars (one of which is really nice).... & neither one could make it! They didn't have mint leaves! I had been so excited too.
Apparently I am going to have to wait until I'm in NYC again to find one!

I'm in the south. Maybe they are not as popular down here?
However, I do live in a region jammed with Universities, so maybe they just don't keep it on hand at places that make a killing off of frat boys.
I'll continue searching!

Millie, they're not that easy to find in bigger cities either. I live in Seattle, and there are only a few bars that serve them, and even fewer that make good ones.
I know Shira had some exams, I haven't seen her posting much the past couple of days.

Hey guys, tough night. C12 - WOW. My wife is a wonderful mother that basically has given the last 12 years of her life to take care of these children. C12 seems to hate her. I am the jerk and I am unscathed. Do not get it. Oh, well.
My last post was ignored. Do not ignore depression, we are off to a funeral tomorrow.

I can empathise, brdlwyr.
I had a school friend who always appeared happy and busy. She hanged herself.
You can never take friendship for granted. I do not know if her friends could have done anything to prevent this tragedy. Perhaps that is just the height of hubris. We just didn't know of her internal struggles. She hid them well. Looking back, there may have been signposts when she was young. But, we don't recognise these things when we are children. In fact, as adults we often chose to overlook those things that may be troubling.
So, I can understand this sad time for you, brdlwyr.

brdlwyr,
I am so sorry about your friend. Hang in there. You seem to have a really good strong heart and your wife and kids are lucky to have you. Just remeber to take care of yourself too.

Gh - I am worried about the siblings. Close Irish Catholic family, I can imagine the guilt that will follow.
My cousin in 1995 also hung himself. We are the same age. His parents had many problems. In 1967 due to many issues he and two of my cousins moved in with us for several months. My parents had nine children at the time. My mother was devastated when he died.

I'm so sorry for your loss, and for his family. Depression -- I will not get into it, but it sucks, to put it eloquently.
On to more frivolous topics...
Hello, I'm here, I'm alive. No, I didn't have too much to drink and pass out in Harlem, I didn't OD, I didn't spend the night at a boys apartment and not log on because it would be too geeky to be on BWW.
*sigh*
I had two midterms, a paper...and DG, in answer to your question a couple pages ago, the drink is not in response to a midterm grade. Granted, I didn't do well, but for goodness sake, it's on 2nd centuryish Rabbinnic Literature! I've two more midterms on the way...wheee! Art History Midterm Paper and Modern Jewish History.
Just got back from Jersey Boys with Liotte...
I enjoyed it, in terms of the music (of course!), and the book was fairly well written. But the show was ruined partly by the audience who thought they were at a rock concert, which was exceedingly frustrating. But it was definitely worth seeing.

Cs! Mon Dieu!
Heh...we won't go into my grades right now.
But you know what? I'll bounce back! (Yeah fake optimism).

brdwlyr; just went back and read all your posts.
Shira; Did Liotte mention if she got her Red Vines? My partner is at a halloween party. I did not want to go. I have Bette Midlers new cd playing. It is quite nice. Shira.. what is your major??

Liotte didn't mention red vines. Hm....
DAME -- I do not yet have a major. No clue. I'm thinking something like a pre-requisite to cantorial school and Psychology.
