Shira - I feel the need to point out to you that there IS a difference between 'overcome' and 'come over' - just so you know.

Ok- funniest story happened tonight- (at least to me)
So my roommate saw spelling bee tonight. She said that the little girl who was up there got the word cow wrong- spelled it with an A cuz she was nervous. She was like, C-A, i mean C-O-W
Apparently no one had ever spelled it wrong, they didn't know if they should call her out (because they said the rules about not going back once a letter has been spoken it can't be taken back), so it was a little off for a few moments at the start of the song Pandemonium which the band starts to play before the speller does the word, and if she should get off the stage with the goodbye song or anything, but they rang the bell, did a goodbye song (that was a little awkward since it wasn't done before) and then went back to Pandemonium. So I was like, that's really funny.
Then D (one of my 12 year old students who is like a surrogate little sister to me) IMed me, because she saw spelling bee tonight (which I knew she was seeing but forgot) and she said that J (another of my surrogate 12 year old kids- and a shy, totally adorable, but very nervous in front of a crowd, tiny girl) was also there and got picked to go onstage and she spelled cow wrong!!!!!! I was like OMG I heard this story but I know the kid!!!! I showed my roommate a picture I have of J and she was like, Yup, that's her. I am taking both of these girls (plus 2 more of my kids) to Six Flags on Thursday, I want an entire re-enactment in the car!!!
I found this the funniest thing ever! We are using the story as blackmail at Six Flags to get J on the big roller coasters :)

Oh my, DG it is going to be a long year for us!!!!!
When I was a sohpmore and my wife was in her fifth year, I would find her having coffee at the deli (no Starbucks back then) rather than in class. I would chide her like I will Shira!

Oh, I can't go there - because that might lead to a discussion of the choices I made at that age. And NO, we're not!
