re: Who needs a MOJITO time? (The sequel)

But they pay for it the next day...

I don't get to bed as early as I know I should... when I do turn the lights out early I always feel SO much better the next day and wonder why I don't do it more often!

When I was a kid, I thought my parents just stayed up all night. I thought only kids slept.

I have no idea what I thought their bed was for.

What a funny thing to think, Rath. That made me laugh!

Grown-ups were so wonderfully mysterious when we were little...

My oldest would stay up every night until Midnight if she could. However, if C10 or C7 are awake past 10:30 - they are nightmares in the morning. Generally C7 is the most pleasant, but until about 7:30 a.m. he is so grumpy - Yikes!

I use to think that was when the grown ups would play.

I remember when I was little and didn't want to take a nap my mother would always tell me "some day you'll wish you COULD take a nap during the day."

I couldn't IMAGINE ever being someone who would wish that...

Mother knows best... a nap during the day can be such a delicious luxury!

It's true, Addy - such a silly thing to say to a child!

Tell me about it, mom. I took one this morning on the commuter train.

Good LORD - I'm watching a report at the moment connecting too much light with cancer.

Especially breast cancer.

For women who get too much light late at night.

Staying up late can be bad for your health. And working nights can be even worse.
You need darkness at night, and at least 9 hours of sleep.

I need to get the latest Prevention Magazine so I can read more about this. WOW.

Have a good meeting RC. I am trying to determine when a Motion is "Routine" in a small claims case which I normally do not handle.

Addy - I fully expect that the next announcement will be that breathing causes cancer - which in many parts of the world is probably true!

Too much light late at night?

I'm ignoring that one.

How can they possibly isolate all the variables to come up with that conclusion?

It's logical that a good night's sleep is a factor in good health, but, I will have to read more about this before I buy in to the theory.

Yes. And last year, it was eight hours that was necessary. Now it's nine.

When they get to 11, I'll be happy.

re: Who needs a MOJITO time? (The sequel)

If I get less than 8 hours, I am dragging. Nine sounds good to me, but I am with Rath, wake me when it gets to 11!

re: Who needs a MOJITO time? (The sequel)

Wow. The absolute most I can sleep in a row is six hours, but that is rare. Usually I sleep between 4 and 4 1/2 hours - but usually try and get in two 'rounds' a day (I'd say that happens maybe half the time.) I guess I function better with less sleep.

re: Who needs a MOJITO time? (The sequel)

So, NINE hours...I don't have time for 9 hours of sleep. I average 6...when I can sleep in I'll wake up after 6 or 7...but then I can doze for a couple of hours more...

However, I am a big fan of NAPS, too.

And the light thing...did they study places that have "White Nights" too?
Where are we going, and why am I in this handbasket?

If I nap for more than an hour, I often find that takes away from my sleep later on that night. Which totally defeats the purpose!
