I don't mind needles- I try to donate blood, but since I was in CR recently and last year too, I have to wait for a year after I get back before I can do it. Sad, cuz I like to help out.

Don't be offended, it's actually most foreign countries in which there is stuff like malaria and dengue (which is a word in spelling bee!). They just have to make sure that if there is a chance that your blood has been in contact with a disease, that you are safe and won't harm others.

It's only a holiday weekend if you work for the government, school, or your company observes Federal holidays. Which most companies do not.

I work for kids who go to school, so I guess it's not really a holiday since I have to work more. But that means we can go skiing or take a day trip somewhere, which is still fun.
