Cookie - do you ever use bitters with the tonic?
#2653

Who needs a Mojito time?

I know I'm in the minority but I've always felt that tonic and vermouth make gin and vodka taste better. I don't believe in "extra dry" martinis. Martinis were invented to be wet!

Of course SOME people prefer their martinis dirty...FILTHY even.

PJ - I do not use olives, so mine are clean. My friend dumps a tablespoon or more of the olive juice in his. How rude to the gin????
#2655

Who needs a Mojito time?

The person I'm referring to who likes his martinis filthy charms the bartender into dumping as much olive juice as possible into the gin. It goes way beyond being rude to the gin: it's virtually dragging the gin into the gutter!

But, then again, it wouldn't be the first time THIS PERSON has dragged someone into the gutter.

VODKA!!!!!!! Filthy *VODKA* martinis, dammit.

THAT PERSON would never do that to gin. (it tastes vile.)
Suzanne: I never use catalogs. I'd rather go in the store and see all the salespeople groveling and sucking up to you. Julia: Pardon me, I never knew they were so solicitous at the K-Mart.

"Gin," said Eliza Doolittle at Ascot, "was like mother's milk to me."

Amen. I'm having a G&T at my desk as we speak.

Damrak. Mmm. If you haven't had it, try it. It's mind-blowing.

Who needs a Mojito time?

I had a woman at my bar who wanted her dirty martini filthy, I poured about an ounce of olive brine in there, and it wasn't enough for her.

Male or female, CK...when they like it filthy, they can't get enough.

(I'm referring to a taste for OLIVE juice, of course.)
#2664

Who needs a Mojito time?

There cannot possibly be a martini too filthy for...um...THAT PERSON.

THAT PERSON since childhood has been fond of drinking the brine directly from the olive jar.

I learn so much from this thread. I want to thank you guys.

I think there's a screenplay in here somewhere, if anyone writes it, I demand to be a producer. :)

Stick with Jailyard, CK. He'll teach you everything you've always wanted to know.

And then some.
