I know I'm in the minority but I've always felt that tonic and vermouth make gin and vodka taste better. I don't believe in "extra dry" martinis. Martinis were invented to be wet!
Of course SOME people prefer their martinis dirty...FILTHY even.

The person I'm referring to who likes his martinis filthy charms the bartender into dumping as much olive juice as possible into the gin. It goes way beyond being rude to the gin: it's virtually dragging the gin into the gutter!
But, then again, it wouldn't be the first time THIS PERSON has dragged someone into the gutter.

VODKA!!!!!!! Filthy *VODKA* martinis, dammit.
THAT PERSON would never do that to gin. (it tastes vile.)

Hello all..I'm back and feeling much better.
I'm on my way home. There's a chilled glass just waiting to be filled with Cosmopolitan waiting for me.
Thank you all for the nice wishes.

Posted: 3/9/05 at 3:28pmI had a woman at my bar who wanted her dirty martini filthy, I poured about an ounce of olive brine in there, and it wasn't enough for her.

Male or female, CK...when they like it filthy, they can't get enough.
(I'm referring to a taste for OLIVE juice, of course.)

There cannot possibly be a martini too filthy for...um...THAT PERSON.
THAT PERSON since childhood has been fond of drinking the brine directly from the olive jar.
