Such a great and poingnant day in my life. My father is here for blind school. I took him this afternoon to the V.A. and it was like I would expect taking a son to college. So strange. He has not been away from my mother for any extended time (52 years of marriage.)
Hi!
OMG, Addy... it was SO funny. I haven't laughed that hard since... well, a while...
Some numbers have to have been updated, 'cause they made a reference to Rush Limbaugh's drug "habit" in one of the torch songs, for example. The cast was so incredibly talented, especially since we later found out one of them was terribly ill... you could never tell. It's performed in a very small space with little to no backstage, so it's quite intimate. And the costumes were very creative.
It was also a good night for the bf and I... so it made it better.

ET - sounds fun. My friend who was in "Whoop Dee Doo" was here today for Easter.
I missed PIg Fly when it was here in the city...
I sa wit in NY and hre in LA with Jim J Bullock
I saw Pigs Fly. So funny! My friend and I were even taped for a TV commercial on our way out of the theatre. Our very unoriginal line was "It's better than Cats!". We were totally joking, and then they ended up using the damn thing. For MONTHS we were on TV with that idiotic line!
brdlwyr, that sounds like an incredibly poignant experience for you and your father. I can't imagine what it must be like.
Addy...
I was asked to do a commercial praising "Sweet Charity" last week. Hehe..I declined. I wasn't looking my foxxiest. I needed a haircut.
Addy;
We are waiting for House wives. In the mean time we are watching the Naacp awards show. Fantasia was feirce. Did you catch it?
No, Dame, I didn't see it. Is that the one that Will Smith hosted?
Princeton... I wish I had declined all those years ago. Although my friend and I still giggle about it. We even made our voices sound dumb. "It was better than Cats!". I had people calling me who I hadn't heard from in years cracking up because of the commercial!
LORD..
Addy..did you coin that phrase??
God, I hope not!
If it was you Addy...grrr..I'm coming after you..you know how I feel about that show.....
No! Not me! I swear! We were saying it as a joke!
I want a copy of that commercial......
NEVER!
You and me both K..
And Addy knows i'm kidding..but "CATS" was my first Broadway show, and though I *FULLY* am aware of its flaws, I still adore it.
I liked "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolfe?" It was better than Cats!
make it go away! NO MORE CATS!!!! Aaaaaaaaaaaaah!!!!
actually that line was from an old commercial from the off-broadway production of "Little Shop of Horrors". they used clips of audience members outside the theatre bestowing their praise for the show. one of them included these two obnoxious kids proclaiming that it "was better than 'Cats', better than 'E.T.'!
Ugh..did i just friggin' date myself?
