Actually, they both do. The lake's too deep so they can't build a regular bridge. And one of them is actually the longest floating bridge in the world.
I like the floating bridge, I think it's pretty cool. My grandma used to live on Mercer Island.
brdlwyr- In chicago, I'm right off of irving park and sheridan down by Wrigley, there's no good way to get there unless you take Lake Shore Drive which is a mess during rush hour. I feel your pain! 290 and 94 aren't any better.

L- Did you ever go to Anna Marie's on Broadway? I think they have built a new restaurant on Clark
liotte... they're cool. The I-90 bridge (the one to go to Mercer Island) is actually quite wide and large. The other one, the SR-520 bridge, is only 4 lanes wide and actually floats pretty close to the water.(that's the one that's the longest floating bridge) During storms, you can actually feel the bridge move and water splashes onto cars. It's kind'a scary the first time you experience it.
I don't know that restaurant- I tend to stay mostly at Sports Corner, Cubby Bear, Murphy's, Nick's, Bar Louie, Barleycorn, that sort of place. You probably get the idea....

Before games, I am at Sports Corner or Murphy's usually. Or else just drinking at my friends' apartment, since it's a couple blocks away and we can hear the action from the game from the back porch.

Before Dame gets irritated, I will post my response on the Baseball thread.
Just stopping by for a nightcap.
Have some more work to do before calling it a night (but decided to treat myself to a few minutes here...)
Cheers!

Working at home.
I had rehearsal until 7 then was going to head back to the office, but decided to take my work home with me instead. Thrilling life I lead, isn't it? Ugh...
What's new with you guys??
Addy... Hi!
Debating whether its worth to shower and drive 20 minutes to go to game night... for about an hour.
Watching Friends (oh how I miss it), and getting ready for bed. Same old boring stuff. We all have such exciting lives...

ET -go to the game.
Addy - there was an article in the Tribune today about organizations renting Carnegie Hall and other venues such as Sidney Opera for vanity performances.
I say YES to game night...
same ol, same ol can sometimes be very reassuring... I like having a routine. Most of the time. My trick is trying to stick to it...
you guys talked me into it. Off to shower (sweaty from the gym...) have a fun rest of the evening...
So when are we getting together for drinks Addy?
ET- Go to the game! Always fun!
Enjoy!
and hope you win!
brdlwyr, that sounds interesting - I'll have to check it out online!

Addy - we thrive on routine. The wife (F) directs it well. She has just learned Outlook and uses a calender to direct us in our activities. (She still does not understand e-mail yet).
How can one not know e-mail nowadays??
I don't like a routine, but I do like having my calendar set way in advance. I already have the first half of next year pretty set.
liotte, as soon as this week is over! We have to schedule something soon!
I am SUCH a list-maker, calendar-checker, brdlwyr! I couldn't exist without my 'organizer', and my outlook which is synched to everything!

I cannot explain it. The kids check their e-mail. I will work on that with her.
I like having things mapped out, as well. Although I do like to leave a little bit of time for spontaneity! (Though it doesn't appear there will be much of that the next month or so...WAY too booked!)
