I understand your stress, Dame. Last time my mother visited here for 10 days I told myself I WOULD NOT make any special efforts. Of course I spent the two days before her arrival cleaning every nook and cranny and figuring out how to thwart any snooping activities...
It actually turned out to be a smart move because for the bulk of her visit (which was to attend her high school reunion) while she was with friends 2 hrs away in our hometown) I was in the hospital with pancreatitis.
Where are we going, and why am I in this handbasket?
Aww, you guys sound like you were having so much fun this afternoon! Work was, well, work. I'm quite tired of going to so many bar and bat mitzvahs, I feel like I am 13 again.
This one wasn't too bad, just a rented room in a nice restaurant in the village. It was very intimate and small, more of a luncheon. Nothing compared to last week's extravaganza!
Last week's was one of the nicest parties I have been to, including weddings. It was at the Pierre Hotel on 5th Ave, and the kid had buffets of every kind of food (sushi, chinese, kid finger food, italian, mexican, indian, etc), and a virtual roller coaster machine, dance dance revolution, poker tables, ping pong, fuseball, make your own wax hands, jewelry engraving, karaoke, those pictures you take that put your face in times square or on magazines, 12 piece band, magicians, tattoo (fake) artists, I can't even remember what else! That was just the kids room before the dinner party with the big band, dancing, DJ, dinner, and everything else!
