Pass the mojito. With the current addition of a certain new and *ahem* precocious BWW member on the OT board, a little alcohol abuse never killed anyone.
*blinks*
Oh, I must have blacked out. Where were we?
*huff* Fine, I'll get it myself.

Indeed. God bless Cuba!
Liam, could I see some ID first?
Ok, Dame - here you go:
Brava, Liza! BRAVA!!
I'll let the other Liza-lovers add their comments/reviews, but will just say that she hit it out of the park last night. At least in my opinion. (I have no doubt professional critics will find things to write about... I simply loved it!).
She looked GREAT. At one point when she was singing, and holding her head up in her classic "Liza pose" the way the light was hitting her - she looked like she did in her "prime". That gorgeous profile of hers, and her bright, shiny eyes. She was radiant.
She was so grateful for all the love and support in the crowd. (And what a crowd it was! Oh my...), and seemed so happy to be performing.
Ok, about the show:
She opened with Old Friends. Brought the house down.
Then she chatted a bit about how Fosse introduced her to Ben Vereen - as her way of introducing him.
He sang:
Lotta Living To Do
Memory
What Kind of Fool Am I
Black Magic
Mr. Bojangles
and then a kicker of a medly: Corner of the Sky, Aquarius, Hair, Don't Know How to Love Him and JC Superstar.
Great performance...lots of energy.
Then it was Liza again.
She came onstage singing I Can See Clearly Now
Then (and I can't remember the order) Come In From The Rain
Londontown
So What
Hey There
My Own Best Friend
Here I'll Stay
What Did I Have That I Don't Have
and.... Cabaret and New York, New York. (she nailed em!)
Her encore was an unaccompanied I'll Be Seeing You.
Her 'conversation' with the audience was great, and she cracked everyone up with a few slams on David Gest... and her reported behavior.
Oh, and we were in the front row of our section (Westbury is in the round), so we had a damn good look at Liza!
Billy Stritch was her pianist. (And he sang two short songs while she changed outfits)
What else?.....
Loved it.
good mornin'
glad to read you had a great time at the minnelli show Addy.
sounds like it was fun.
now, how about some coffee and muffins to start out the morning?
Liza sounds like a blast, I had a "ME" night to celebrate the beginning of my week off. It was wonderful.
mimosas for all or perhaps, just an oj...
Glad to hear that Liza delivered the goods and more!
mmmmmmmm oj and bagels. Thanks cookie! Off to do the grocery shopping. Then I get to have my hair done then shoe shopping!! (oh the joy!) Happy Saturday all.
Liza was incredible. That was definately an evening I won't soon forget!
Wow! I'm so happy for her.
Maybe now I can start dreaming again:
LIZA AND LORNA AT CARNEGIE HALL
WOW! I am so happy to hear this. It sounds like she did the same songs she did this summer in Atlanta. But it was a outdoor venue and 100 degrees..
oh, PalJoey - that would be a great dream!
Dame, she was working up a sweat in her show last night...so being outdoors in 100 degrees must have been rough. She was good-natured about being so warm last night - making jokes about her make-up and finally, even taking off her false eyelashes. She just had a really playful sense of fun about it all...
Morning to everyone else!
I'll take some OJ, Cookie. Hold the mimosas until a later date...
Addy; I am counting on you to post links to the NY critics reviews.
Now this is interesting....my posts on the main board are being deleted. That's strange...
Evening all.... Is It mojito time yet?
It is time for a DOUBLE.
Spent most of the day in the office... getting ready for the big pre-Oscars week. I'm tired. Home on a Saturday night, and I'm delighted that I have nothing more than a movie planned!
What are you watching Addy?
It is pouring out here. Time for something hot.
