OTA, noticed Lucy on the Chuckle thread, but wasn't sure if you'd go back into that one. Love her. Have you ever taken the little tour?

bdwaygirl - Cool, you know Lucy? We toured Lucy over the weekend - first time I've ever been up in the old girl... and I've lived here all my life! It's a pretty fascinating thing - she turned 124 last Wednesday!
Yep, known about her for years and kept saying I was going to go see her and finally did about 3-4 years ago. I thought it was pretty cool, too. I'm glad they've managed to preserve her and make her a historic landmark.
Hope they celebrated her birthday in style!

Good morning all. Should be hot again, but not that humid. Yesterday was Vegas hot because the wind picked up and the air was drier. High of 102 at Midway Airport.
The kids are not going to camp because of the heat. The old Chicago park district buildings are architectually significant, but hot.
BL - saw a story on the heat yesterday morning (Today show, I think)... how was Lollapalooza? Any heat issues?

Lollapoluzza seemed to be a success. A few needed treatment. The city takes heat so seriously and has invested resources in pregrams since the 1995 heat disaster. Our daughter was born on one of those days. We had no power and it was 95 in our apartment so we went to a hotel and my wife started labor about 2 hours later. We had to drive through varous rough areas in the dark to get to the hospital.
You have a heat/birth story and I have the snow/birth story - c9 was born during the "Blizzard of '94" when we had 30+ inches...

C7's birth was so smooth that when we called home my sister in law who was staying with C11 and C10 did not even know that we had left in the middle of the night.
We should have had a few more, my wife pops out these babies naturally with little intervention and absolutely no narcotic drugs.

LOL - not so lucky with C5 - he was a BIG baby - after several hours of labor, they had to go the C-Section route... C9 was quick, though - there was less time spent on the delivery and more time (from the medical staff) watching the weather reports!
Lucy's awesome -- she's a big elephant, that's all I know.
I'm glad it's Monday, oddly enough, but I have a TON of stuff to do before Wednesday.
Shira - sorry if I should know this, but what happens on Wednesday?

Happy Day to you all.
It's a holiday for me because Utah is celebrating Pioneer Day today. The arrival of the Mormon pioneers into the Salt Lake Valley in 1847. So LDS Church employees throughout the US have the day off too.
A holiday when things aren't closed and movie theaters won't be packed. Woo Hoo...I may actually attempt to see ROTS today (don't hate me for not having gone yet...)

Happy Pioneer Day beacs. I need a holiday like that.
Beacs - that's cool! Happy P-day to you!
On Wednesday I leave for Chattanooga, TN for a debutante ball. I come back on Sunday, shoot some people at the Hollywood Bowl on Sunday nite, and than start catsitting on Monday.

Shira, that made me laugh out loud!
