How do you get a gig in Tenn??

My dad started shooting debutante balls YEARS ago. Almost 50 years ago, I believe. He lived in NYC, and he would fly down and shoot in the South. Then he moved to CA, and continued.The amount it costs to fly us out is always worth it.
Anyhow, so this is teh Cotton Ball in Chattanooga. The next one is in Raleigh, NC.
I started doing it when I was 15, flying to Selby, NC when I was 15 or 16 (I think right before I turned 16), and I've been doing it ever since.
It's a great trade (though perhaps not as profit worthy as I would like), and it's given me equipment and stuff for the events I do for BWW.

Addy - it's rather unique, I should think. Most people go, WTF? But it's interesting on a resume. And a good conversation piece.
I would love to snag the chance to photograph the International Deb Ball in NYC.
Right now, I'm just extra crabby because NOTHING in my wardrobe fits right. I swear, this losing weight thing is just relocating fat to my waistline from my thighs so everything seems tight

LOL...well, it will all eventually work it's way to where it's supposed to go! Good for you for losing weight you don't want!
It's an interesting tradition, and one which I never wanted to participate in for myself (though I had friends who did), but going to one of the big balls is quite an experience. What fun for you to photograph!
The last one I went to was at the Plaza - in the Ballroom. What a magical setting. I loved all the men in white tie...

Addy - I believe that is the International Debutante Ball. There were hot men in JUST white ties? Lovely...
It is an interesting tradition - and I think my Dad was considering my debuting in DC, but who knows. I could just see you making a debut into New York society, Addy!
I do rather enjoy the experiences - some girls you see at Ball after Ball, and get to know them. If people are nice, it's great. But when they are not, and there are people behind you taking pictures with their own cameras, or a mother who keeps butting in and can be not so fun. But of course, I ALWAYS keep a smile on my face.

Hi hussys. Just returned from Wicked. The fying mechanism did not work tonight. The show was good. Same thing as NY. Loved Stephanie. Everything else is interchangeable.

That freaaking theater is so beautiful but the Ac system must be from the 60's. I swear I don't know how they get away ith it. We try avoiding seeing things there in the summer. But sometimes one has no choice.

I lost my lottery virginity. I put my name in the "hat" for the matinee. Very interesting. I found the crowd very diverse in age with many women in their 30s and 40s.
The Oriental is only two blocks away and I may try again in Sept. when the students are back in school.
I would have been late because I am going into a nightmare meeting with my partners. Ugh.

The only lotteries in Seattle are for students. And when Rent comes to town they have rush tickets. I wonder if Wicked will have the lottery when it comes to Seattle.
