I promise to, brdlwyr. I think it's tentatively scheduled for June 25th (which is when we're performing the Opening Night concert for the Caramoor Festival. We're singing the Fidelio opening as well as Beethoven's Ninth Symphony) Big Beethoven year...

In Los Angeles we can buy our alchohol in the supermarket. but I noticed that in NYC that is not the cae. Why? And how is it everywhere else?

In Virginia, they have state controlled alcohol, sold at 'ABC' stores (Alcoholic Beverage Control). Utah also has state controled alcohol sales - and when you go to one of the stores, they treat you like a sinner.

In Chicago we can buy liquor, beer and wine in gocery stores.

Growing up in Kansas - that was a whole different story.

There's something different about alcohol sales in Charlotte too. I noticed that at the airport where the bartender had to sign a sticker on each empty liquor bottle.

I'm enjoying a Sterling Shiraz right now.

DAME - I think the abc stores in Hawaii are just a store name - they're just convenience stores, as far as I could tell. The ABC stores in controlled states are actually run by the state.

I hate that the state would be so involved. But then again; maybe in those states it is a necessity.
