So I'm sitting at lunch and this girl I know comes up to me with a petition to keep this guy from getting expelled from my school. Here's the situation according to the girl:
He left his work knife from his job in his pocket. When he came to school the next day, he was in class and he reached into his pocket to get a pencil. The knife fell out. Some kid saw it and reported it to the principal saying he had been threatened with the knife. At my school, weapons of any kind are a no-no. So now the kid's in deep SH*T.
So I sign the petition.
The next period, her best friend comes up to me and asks me to sign a petition to keep this guy OUT of school. She tells me the real story:
The girl who showed me the first petition is dating the guy who's getting expelled. She also thinks the guy who reported the guy who's getting expelled (who by the way, never said he was threatened) is a first-class prick.
So I sign that petition too.
I realize that I have my signature on two petitions. But the latter is the one my heart is truly set on. I mean, how reliable can the girlfriend of a guy who's getting expelled be? And she's deliberately not telling people that she hates the guy who reported the guy who's getting expelled.
Is my decision a correct one?
And one last thing:
Who the hell forgets to take their knife out of their pocket?

Who cares who's right? Signing a petition will do nothing. You can't just signed a petition to make exceptions to law, even if he did make a mistake. If you use something on your job that is forbidden at school, it's pretty important that you remove it from your pocket, prior to going to school. He should be expelled. The administration that is expelling him is right.

Did I mention one girl is trying to keep him OUT of school.
Besides, this guy once pretended to come onto me. I reported his ass.

With all due respect, JohnPopa, the student board would be a better place.

Posted: 12/22/06 at 8:22pmHave a heart, Elphaba. I forgot to mention, I had a similar experience. Fortunately, no one reported it. I had detention after school (in the cafeteria) and when I reached in my book bag to take out a book, the knife I had in there went flying onto the floor. Several kids saw it, but only one exclaimed. I quickly picked up the knife, put it back in my bag, and that was that. No harm done.

Did you hear that Becky was SO mad about the whole thing?! She was totally, like, "Why aren't they even talking about my new bra? Who cares about the ****ing knife?"

Believe me, missy, there was plenty of talk.

Posted: 12/22/06 at 11:00pmDo you honestly think signing a "petition" from some students at your school is going to do anything? It may make some people happy/mad but in the end, if they decide to expel him (or not), it's not going to have anything to do with the petition.

And this is exactly why I don't sign petitions. They're bullsh*t.
Nothing is going to stop the school from making their decision for or against this guy.
