It doesn't say definitively that he did not give the $$ to charity, but it implies that he kept it.
And that he and Rush share similar views on gay marriage/civil unions.

Later, Em kept his "cred" by saying to the press he had no idea Elton was gay.

So Sir Elton John’s civil partner David Furnish told People Elton played Rush Limbaugh’s wedding as a way of “building bridges” to the other side. He also breathed the same air at the ceremony as virulent homophobe Ken Hutcherson, who officiated.

Riiiiight. The sad thing is I think he believes his own bullsh*t. I'm sure the whole Eminem thing was supposed to do the same thing.
Methinks Sir Elton likes being "punked" in the most passive-aggressive way imaginable.
And why the hell did Rush want him there in the first place???
