Why is Big Brother starting earlier?

Does anyone know why it's starting 3 weeks earlier this year? Is it just because theres a bigger cast or is there some twist. With Big Brother you never really know!

Perhaps it's because they want a different show to start earlier in the fall?

Well they said it's extra big brother so I don't think it's cause they want a show to start earlier in the fall. And the premiere date is June 26!

From my understanding they are starting quite a few summer shows earlier to start falls hows earlier before other networks debut fall shows. Basically, get fans loyal to CBS's new shows first so they won't go anywhere else.

Perhaps a ratings ploy?

Or maybe something much bigger, and darker is happening and it's too soon to let the public know....
