Why was Idol's Constantine everywhere?

Does anyone know why Constantine Maroulis was at everywhere this week? He was at the Rent party and the red carpets of History Boys, Wedding Singer and Lestat. Is he plugging anything besides himself?

I noticed that too. I just figured he was trying to be "discovered", but since being on national tv didn't work, he'd try broadway. Who knowssss

He was in Rent, on tour. I saw him as Roger, he wasn't very good in my opinion, but that's why he was in NYC- for the Rent reunion.

he needs to stay the hell away from The History Boys.

I thought he was good on American Idol, I really did, and I was SHOCKED to find out he was the same guy that ruined Roger when Rent came to Cleveland.

Oh Shiksa, I'm TOTALLY with you there. He was awful as Roger. I didn't know anything about him, but I came out of seeing that tour thinking, "That was amazing, except for the Roger." The actors playing Mark and Mimi overpowered/otherwise blew him out of the water in every single scene.

I didn't know anything about him until after when he was on Idol, so I has the same feeling. Actually, the whole cast seemed off to me that night, I know a lot of other people have said my Mark was great, but he must have been having a bad night because I left the theatre thinking "Great music, terrible story". The actors just didn't do anything to make you like the characters. Then when I saw it on Broadway I loved it, and I finally *got* Rent.

He was a horrible Roger when I saw him too. The rest of the cast was amazing!

Constantine isn't a bad guy or singer but lately he's been on some bizzare ego trip. One of my friends is a big supporter of the fan and part of his hardcore fandom who talk to him regularly on his site. Lately, he's broken from his band, badmouthed some of his hard working fans (especially the one who arranged all the bands loding and flights), and been very distant. Again, he's not a bad guy but he seriously needs to step down from whatever pedestal he is on.

Oh and I have heard recordings and found he was a very good Roger vocally. Maybe I had to see him live though...

I was flipping through the channels earlier tonight, and he was being interviewed by some idiotic guy on Fox news. I have no idea why he's so popular.

I saw him as Roger too . . . please God, keep him away from the theatre world. Apparently, he also was Hedwig.

He's such a camera whore. I swear I've seen at least 50 pictures of him and Joey Fatone at the Rent benefit in various places online.

He looks at the camera the same creepy way in EVERY picture, except the recently posted one.... ewwwww.....

Yeah, I had noticed that he was in many pictures at being at different shows this week as well. Boy, does he has a talent for looking creepy in pictures.

I agree with donna, he looks VERY creepy in all the pictures he has been in.
