Wicked fans are the most made-fun-of fan base related to Broadway.

*One fact is that every actress who originated the role in a North American production has played the role on Broadway.

*Another is that 'Wicked' became the first Broadway show to gross $2 million in one week.

*Shoshana Bean replaced Eden Espinosa as the standby for Elphaba on Broadway, but Espinosa later went on to replace Bean as the principal Elphaba on Broadway. Espinosa also succeeded Teal Wicks in both the Los Angeles and San Francisco productions of 'Wicked'.

*Julia Murney replaced Stephanie J. Block in 1st National tour of 'Wicked', but then Block replaced Murney as Elphaba on Broadway.

*Alli Mauzey replaced Kendra Kassebaum as Glinda in both the Broadway and San Francisco productions.

*The first two prinicpal Elphabas, Idina Menzel and Shoshana Bean, played their LAST performances in the role during the same week. (Menzel was doing the London production and Bean was doing the 1st National tour)

"Idina Menzel broke her vagina bone twice during the first six months of the production, leading to multiple delays in start times and finishing times"

"Shoshana Bean is the only actress to have fallen off the stage more than three times during her run as Elphaba, each time landing in the orchestra pit and resuming her role on stage in less than ten minutes after the fall"

"Kristin Chenoweth flubbed her line once and instead of calling the dog "DoDo" she called the dog "dildo" to which a Christian group in the mezzanine called her a "slut monster" and stormed out of the theater. No refunds were given and the case is still pending in civil court.

"Norbert Leo Butz is the only actual male to have ever played Fiyero on Broadway"

"The role of Madame Morrible was written for Dorothy Collins but was given to Carole Shelley when it was discovered Collins had died many years before"

Nothing in the show was actually green. It was all done with lighting.

Baby Elphaba was actually a real baby that had to be spray painted each night and showered with whomever was playing grown up Elphaba.

"Hot Pockets, the official sponsor of WICKED, pulled out of their sponsorship with the show after Eden Espinosa said onstage how she hates them".

When Mandy Gonzalez assumed the role of Elphaba on Broadway, the front row began draping themselves in tarps, like they were seeing Gallagher. I know because I saw her from the front row...
