This could be so funny if they played up the terrible FX, music and costumes... but made it all seem so EPIC.
You know they're not going "serious" with it now.

Sounds like a role for Chris Kattan - a la "Mr. Peepers".
Actually the upcoming Speed Racer movie looks likeit MIGHT be good. Great cast - Emile Hirsch as Speed, John Goodman and Susan Sarandon as Pop and Mom, Christina Ricci as Trixie, Matthew Fox as Racer X, and Tim Curry as the bad guy.
