Will ROMANCE & CIGARETTES ever be released in America?

I was going through imdb.com and came across ROMANCE & CIGARETTES, I remember being so excited about this movie back in the day, and then they just kept pushing back the release date. Two years later, we still haven't even gotten it on DVD which made me wonder when will we ever get to see this movie in the US?
It stars the always great Kate Winslet as well as a bunch of theater favorites including Cady Huffman, Mary-Louise Parker and Elaine Stritch.

I don't know if it's actually happening or not, but there was a recent story about a potential American DVD release. It also explains why this movie has been stuck in limbo for so long - in a nutshell, Sony bought out the producing studio just as the film was being finished, then refused to release it or sell it back to its producers.

I really hope they release it on DVD at least. I'm not surprised Kate Winslet gives an Oscar-worthy performance, she's the main reason I can't wait to see this show...well, Mary-Louise Parker, Elaine Stritch, and Cady Huffman don't hurt either.

The idea of James Gandolfini going anywhere near Kate Winslet is enough to put me off. When they start making films about unattractive, overweight women sexually involved with hunky men, I may change my position. I'm fed up with the double standard.
