Just when it was safe to go back to the cinema, Mr "hang on while i throw this phone" Crowe does Robin Hood.
Universal has nabbed spec script "Nottingham," in a deal that will reunite Russell Crowe with Imagine Entertainment.
Crowe will receive $20 million against 20% to star as the Sheriff of Nottingham in this revisionist version of the Robin Hood story from the creators of "Sleeper Cell."
Scribes Ethan Reiff and Cyrus Voris will receive seven figures for the script.
Imagine's Brian Grazer will produce the pic, expected to start lensing at the end of the year or early 2008.
Lets hope this does the same as "A Good Year", nobody goes and he justs goes away..

Eh. I can think of worse and much more irritating actors than Russell Crowe.
I've actually been quite a fan ever since I swooned over him in a great, great Australian film called PROOF with Hugo Weaving he did in his twenties (its still his most charming performance). Then he moved to Hollywood and oh dear....

I enjoy Russell's work quite a bit. He made a flop. Like that's never happened before.
Looking forward to his next project.

Russell should be playing Sweeney Todd.
Then we might actually be afraid of him.
