lol, I nearly hate him. He is the exact example of what's gone wrong in Germany's taste in terms of musicals. He's sung nearly every role of badly written German musicals on the one hand and Lloyd Webber shows on the other hand. Ugh!

I know I was thinking the same thing when people listed the roles he played for me... My exact thought was: Are there no other male performers in Germany so they HAVE to make this guy play EVERY single role, wether he's right for it or not?

Yessica?

The question about love for broadway:
My "love" started with doing musicals at my school, which you don't have to expect as beeing as professionally done as big Hogh School Musicals (we neither had good voice training nor proper mics or anything). Later on a good friend of mine an me started to write musicals together - he allready was into broadway very much and showed me the "big world of broadway", including this website re: Willkommen/Welcome
And: I met my last girl friend at CHICAGO (the movie) re: Willkommen/Welcome

I'm the german Ethel Merman, don't you know... ;-)

Frage an die anderen Deutschen: Warum sprechen alle deutschen Musicaldarsteller amerikanischen Akzent, obwohl sie keine Amerikaner sind?

Yessica, it's just that every long running production obviously feels, they have to get him into the cast to attract those square musical fans or even tourists. As far as I read at some point he even has a lot of fan clubs far away from Germany, I think even in Japan.

Crazy stuff. I saw a video of him performing something from Elisabeth and Phantom on youtube.com, and he was okay, but nothing too special...

The Stuttgart Ballet played New York as early as 1973. I saw them in Swan Lake at The Met...

I am always so jealous of people who can dance...
I have no dancing ability what so ever..

You still can learn that, YessicaB, with a little training. re: Willkommen/Welcome well, a lot maybe. But as for musicals not all actor's can really dance very good.

I know and I will have to start taking dance...
But you know as with everything in life there's only so much you can do to help someone with NO natural ability... re: Willkommen/Welcome

Ah, come on, it can't possibly be that bad. To say it with Dame Julie Andrews in Victor/Victoria: There are still some professions where practice makes perfect.

I love you Franklin...
Let's put it this way... My first attempt to dance was in a class where we were taught a combination from Hairspray and everybody else had been dancing for awhile and I pretty much just tried to move the same direction as them...
You know like the girl in A Chorus Line when they do the ballet combination and she can't do ballet...?

One brick at a time, YessicaB, and I didn't say you become a Ballet virtuoso within minutes. But it is always possible to improve. But since Hairspray is not such an old show, you can't be an old ballet veteran by now re: Willkommen/Welcome So, don't lose faith in it...
