Woo Hoo! I made it out of the ensemble----and now I'm back in! :-)

After years of being a trusty member of the ensemble, I just found out I was cast as the Fairy Godmother in a local production of Roger and Hammerstein's "Cinderella". I'm so thrilled!

I have no idea who the rest of the cast is yet, so that makes me kind of nervous, but I'll know more on Tuesday night!

I usually dislike these kinds of threads, but I just got confirmation that I had the role. The director had called and then I left him a message and I didn't want to say anything to anyone until I heard back from him. And now I know, and I won't see anyone because of the holiday! So I had to tell SOMEBODY!

Congrats! It's a wonderful feeling getting out of the ensemble.

Trust me, I was THRILLED to be part of every ensemble I have been part of. And in some shows...like "Nine"..I think the ensemble had more to do than almost anyone but Guido....but it's really great to have someone think you're capable of a bigger part. And this one looks like so much fun!!!

Just a quick update:

I know it's early in the game, and we've only had a few rehearsals and, but I have to admit that so far, I'm feeling very isolated. I guess I'm just missing that whole "being part of the group" thing that happens when you're in the ensemble. We also still dont' have a cast contact sheet and I'm not sure I even know who all is IN the cast!

I know we'll get there....the director's game plan seems to be to block everything as quickly as possible and then go back and work on things. I'm sure that as we spend our hours sitting through the run throughs where we aren't on stage, we'll all get to know each other. Right now, though, everything just seems so sporadic. I have one rehearsal this week, and then nothing the week after! How come my rehearsals couldn't be like that when I was trying to teach AND do a show??
