Who do you think is the worst Disney villain and why?
I would choose Frollo from Hunchback of Notre Dame, because not only is he a sadistic creep who likes to sexually harrass much younger women, but he also attacks Quasimodo through psychological torture.
The most evil villain, or the villain who is the most poorly-developed?
Do you mean worst as in the worst morals or as in the worst developed?
EDIT: You took the words out of my mouth, gov.
Hades from Hercules. Hes supposed to be the ruler of hell yet he cracks jokes every 5 seconds and his two messenger people are the dumbest things ever. If your the ruler of hell, wouldnt you want smart assistants!?!?! LOL
Really? I thought Hades was a very well put-together character. Granted he was no Ursula, Jafar or Gaston. But he worked.
I LOVED Hercules (the Disney version) but his characteristics were so odd and randomly given.
My favs are:
1) Gaston
2) Ursula
3) Jafar
4) Scar
5) Sid from Toy Story
I think Shbrt means the worst constructed villain.
even though Anastasia isn't Disney, I say its close enough, and Rasputin is a sucky villan. His song is corny, and not creepy. Villains have to have good songs.
Most evil villain...hmm. Jafar was pretty twisted. Maybe just because I'm an aladdin fanatic.
It is not Disney, it is Fox...
but Rasputin in ANASTASTIA was one of the most underdeveloped and poorly-written characters ever. And Ahrens and Flaherty wrote some great songs for the movie, but Rasputin's song was so......ugh.
edit: Why is everyone poting something the second before I do?
Michael Eisner.
R62, that is perhaps the truest thing I have ever read on these boards.
First post the most evil villain, then the worst constructed. Updated On: 8/26/04 at 03:29 PM
Well since I already posted what I thought was the most poorly constructed, heres why I <3 Gaston.
His songs are great and he has such an undenaibly frightening presence. He is scary and yet you feel for him in an unspoken way, as you do with the Beast. Gaston is such a simple yet very layered character. He has many different personalities and they are all very scary in one way or another.
Ursula, Jafar and the queen from Snow White are all perfectly evil and cunning.
Cruella Devil is also up there.
But I find Gaston fascinating. He starts out not as a villian per se, but more of a comic antagonist. But he gradually grows into a maniacal villan, and the transformation is always astonishing.
The Fairy Godmother from Cinderella.
Who gives a girl a dress and some jewelry and a pimpin' ride and than tells her to give it back in a few hours?!?!
Hahaha. Matt_G, you always find a way to put a smile on my face!!
Ooo careful, wickedrocks!! You'll get this thread deleted too!
I forgot to add one of the most mesmerising villans in cinema:
Shere Khan~THE JUNGLE BOOK
Rath, you lost me there. What? *confused look on face*
A little problem earlier with threads about how much we love Matt being deleted. It's over now - I was just joking.
That's okay. You didn't know.
WiCkEDrOcKS-the orange font definitely looks better than the pink.
I think Scar is the most evil. Killing a king, then a child, then planning the rape of a woman as well as torturing and starving a community.
That's pretty bad.
