Okay,
So I am in the beautiful Canadian city of Calgary, Alberta for the summer, rehearsing a show. Every year, for two weeks in July there is the biggest rodeo in the world here, the Calgary Stampede (The Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth). The whole city goes a little cowboy crazy, and even the business men and preppy high school kids are all in cowboy duds. And I recently discovered that the population of this city is the most attractive I have ever seen. EVERYONE looks good...old and young.
So anyways, I had an amazing day at the Stampede over the weeked. Highlights include getting hypnotized in front of 3000 people and stripping in front of them all, amopng other fun and stupid things. I went on so many amazing rides that I was very close to throw up (always good), and watched an amazing free concert by the band Hot Hot Heat (big in Canada right now), and then got drunk and danced to hick country music.
I was just wondering if any other people around these parts have been to the Clagary Stampede, since I know it is a big tourist draw.

Whoa. You got hypnotized and stripped for the crowd? Wow...
Hah...yup...and many other stupid things. The funny thing is I got hit on all day by people that were watching the show. It was pretty funny, but very weird because I was like "I'm not normally like that".

Oh....My friend jus sent me a great picture of me on the ride. My arms look not so scrawny which nice (but just an illusion I assure you).

LOL - why did I know that in that entire three paragraph dissertation on the Calgary stampede, EVERYONE was going to zero in on the hypnosis/strip show...

Hah...there WAS a DVD....but it was 30 bucks so i didn't buy it. I think my friend took pictures in the audience though...not that those will be posted here...for free.

Isn't it funny how hypnosis unleashes our secret desires? It's been determined that people won't do anything under hypnosis that would be adamantly against doing while completely conscious. It sort of gives us permission to do what we've wanted to do all along.
I completely agree with you how people can look gorgeous in cowboy gear. I used to think it was silly. But people can really pull it off and look terrific. People in chaps, with unbuttoned western wear shirts with pearl buttons exposing people's chest hair with their toothy white smiles and people's lantern jaws and people's cowboy hats and people's boots. It IS hot. People like that are hot.
I went out with a person once and this person wore cowboy gear once. This person was already sexy and they were even more sexy when this person wore this person's western outfit.
Yeehaw indeed.
Hah,
Namo, I know about hypnosis, as I have been hyponotized at the Stampede five years in a row now, and would agree that I wouldn't do anything I really didn't want to do...however...I dont think I would normally be that comfertable doing it in front of that many people.
And it's not just that Western gear is hot...Year round I find this city to be so much more attractive, population-wise, than other cities i have lived in. Everyone just takes really good care of tehmselves, but doesn't overdo it. Good gene pool I guess.

You've gone five years in a row? THAT'S a fan, ladies and gentlmen!
All those hot cowpeople looking all hot all the time.
Yup,
I am definitely a fan...actually I have gone since I was 2, whenever I am in town (which is in the summers, when I visit my parents).
Hah...I am a cowboy at heart I guess. I used to have a horse...she died from being old and fat.

The Marlboro Man is the sexiest symbol in advertising history, so it stands to reason that all men look better in cowboy duds.
The Calgary rodeo is bigger than the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo??? I never knew that! I know that the one in Houston in one of the biggest annual events in the US. I would go every 3 years or so. It's so much fun.

Hello? Can we get back on topic? LLW Stripped in front of 3,000 people! We need A LOT more details-- did you collect tips? Did the strip have a theme (i.e. "The Garden of Eden" or "Tessie Tura's revolution in dance")? What were you wearing when you started and stopped? Did the hypnotist leave the suggestion implanted and could you be triggered to do it again?
You know, stuff like that. We're curious.

And I want to hear more about the hot people in their western wear. Who were the hottest people? How hot were they? What were the hottest aspects of those people? What was your favorite hot part of the hot people to see? Who was the hottest of the hot people that you saw? What about them made them the most hot? And stuff like that.

Cowboys, hm? I always thought the guys who ride bulols are cute. Not that i go to many rodeos, but when teh big, end of the year horse show used to be at Madison Square Garden, they always had a rodeo night.
Blech, I ride horses (Not the rodeo, I do something completely different), and though the guys are cute, and hot, it's a lot like the theater.
Hah,
I was wearing a short sleeve shirt and shorts when I starting stripping, but I don't see that being as what I was weraing AFTER i stripped...socks...shoes...baseball cap. Hah.
And EVERYONE was hot. It's true. The rednecks, the preps, the families, the old people...everyone was just so well put together. I think it might be because Calgary is a very outdoor city, and very active. So people stay fit, and get a lot of sun and excersize, and they are a lot more mellow and relaxed than bigger cities (It is only 1 million people living here).

Ya know, I was accused of making fun of someone's mother in a now deleted thread (Why it was deleted, I do not know.) All I did was ask a simple question and someone who I had kind feelings toward tore me apart...saying how mean I was and not funny...
Well, Thenardier, you could be accused of the same thing by posting this in a thread started by some one who has had to defend his sexuality quite often on this board. If you are just being silly, that is one thing, but if you are implying that LLWB is GAY, well that is something else altogether.
Sue -
As one of the other straight guys on this thread, I had no intention of implying that LLWB is gay. In fact, I did not even think about that.
But for one thing, he never mention a girlfriend, so there is no comparison there.
Second, the minute I read "Albert" that quote came up in my mind.
Sorry, LLWB if it came off that way.
Hah...
I did not even close to take it that way...in fact I almost quoted that quote in the original post. I mean...how often is Alberta in musical theatre.
Akiva
Forget musical theatre, how often do we talk about Alberta?
First of all, Thenard, you are a straight guy? I thought you were a woman. Secondly, I didn't intend to make fun of that person's mother, but I got criticized just the same. No one apologized to me. But here you are saying "Oh, I didn't mean it THAT way"...and we are expected to believe you?
Sueleen, go find Namo and play with him.
Namo and I don't get along. So like a good puppet, you have to go around arguing with me.
And look what Link wrote...
Oh, and I don't think making fun of someone's mother who is in the hospital and a joke about being gay is quite the same thing.

First of all I hate Namo, so I don't know what the hell you are talking about. Secondly, I didn't make a joke about anyone's mother, thirdly, I don't need anyone to tell me you are really annoying. And finally, you admit to making a joke about Link being gay?
I'll pray for you.
