The BWW mods must have seen this coming.
Nooooo! That site had me entertained for many, many lonely evenings!
But I guess it had to happen one day...

If they're not infringing anyone's copyright, you should still be able to post them on youtube.
YouTube will probably survive as a pay site, like Napster did.

Actaully- there is a commericial you can create for Avenue Q and they say to either send it in on YouTube or EveSpot-which I never heard of.
We did all know this was coming...

actually some media companies have decided to work with Youtube rather than fight them so this case might not be as dire as thought
Aww, I just discovered this.

Protest! Picket!
Who's starting the petition?!
This reminds me of when Napster was about to go down and the day before everyone was urging people to download as many songs as possible. lol
I must've downloaded over 75 songs in less than 8 hours and that with crappy dial up.
If I knew how and had the energy I'd do the same with youtube with clips that are in "danger".
Most of the stuff that sounds like it's being attacked I don't care for. Who cares about ten year old news anyway?
Ha, She, I remember that! I took over the family computer late into the night- doing "homework"- just so I could download songs as my AOL 56K connection could muster. Ah, those were the days. Then we had to resort to searching for "Bink 183" songs.
I've grown up since then. I just think it's a shame that they're targetting *just* the website, have no intentions of going after the individuals that broke the law and dragged YouTube into it.

Yeah! Or anybody's rights to their property?
i just like to do "re-mixes" ... and while i realize this is using copyrighted material without permission ... i also consider it great advertising for those production companies and their works.

Skittles -- yes! Or they'd change around the letters in the artist's name, so you were searching for Leton Ojhn or something like that.
The absolute worst was when a song was almost completely downloaded, and then you received a message saying that the other user terminated the download at 99%.
Regarding YouTube -- yeah, not surprised. I'm sure it's happened with various organizations, but Equity actually demanded them to remove some clips a week ago.
ETA: Chita, you should also probably mention that you'll need an FLV player to play the files. I've referred people to that website before, and generally people don't know how to put two and two together.

Yes. You will need to download the player. I wish I would have bothered looking for this site sooner.
