Your Favorite Still-Running Comic Strip?

Your Favorite Still-Running Comic Strip?#0

I feel that most of today's comic strips are horribly drawn and horribly written. I mean seriously, Garfield? Not funny. Family Circus? Would be alright if not for the simple fact that it was the spawn of Satan. Cathy? Your one joke was run into the ground within the first year. Dilbert? Jumped the shark years ago.

So, I'd probably have to go with Doonesbury, with Boondocks running a close second. Doonesbury is not only hilarious but it's also thoughtful and quite biting. Plus its plotlines are highly complex for a comic strip. It's the one comic strip I could call "cerebral". Plus it has lost none of its flavor since its original objects of satire passed into the history books and has handled the change from the Cold War to today's War on Terror with effortless ease.

Boondocks is the only strip that I read everyday.

Can't get into the animated series at all, but I still love the comic.

b.c., because it takes a real genius to work in fanatical Christian messages in a comic that takes place millions of years before the centerpiece of said religion even appeared.

And who can beat the humor? Just the other day, it showed a caveman looking up the word "stuff" in the dictionary. The definition said: What people do on Thanksgiving, first to the turkey, then to themselves. Pure genious, as I said! All those years of Thanksgiving, I never put together that coincidence.

My fave comic ever is Calvin and Hobbes, but that doesn't really count even though papers still print it, since there are no new strips. Nothing amuses me quite as much.

Other than that... I like Foxtrot, I guess.
Ostriches are rad. Like, really.

Boondocks is the only one I always read. I occasionally read Doonesbury when Trudeau has a good week going.

Boondocks is great. It's about two black kids and their views on the world and current events. It's like Doonesbury although each strip is more or less self-contained and isn't an ongoing story.

I LOVE "Get Fuzzy."
That cat is so sarcastic and sometimes stupid. They're like the modern day Garfeild and Odie.
