re: Your Musical-Shhh!

Most of my theatre friends only know mainstream stuff, so there is a lot.

See What I Wanna See
Songs for a New World
The Wild Party
even stuff like Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Hair, etc.

Sunday in the Park With George. There are other (obscure) ones, but my friends know nothing about theatre. I get lots of funny looks from them. :P

The Last 5 Years (not TOO obscure)
and
The Utter Glory of Morrissey Hall

But then again, most of them aren't theatre people...so anything thats not RENT (thanks to that movie), they don't know.
But they've learned to get used to my singing showtunes when prompted by a familiar phrase or anything that reminds me of a song.

re: Your Musical-Shhh!

I have a select few friends whoa re actually into theatre, and they all pretty much know all the words I know. But my out of theatre friends would be shocked to know that I know the words to any show, and I know the words to about 15 shows. Sad. The most worrying is Cats, but I was young at the time, so it's ok.
The rain we knew is a thing of the past -
deep-delving, dark, deliberate you would say
browsing on spire and bogland; but today
our sky-blue slates are steaming in the sun,
our yachts tinkling and dancing in the bay
like racehorses. We contemplate at last
shining windows, a future forbidden to no one.

Not one of my friends knows and loves Taboo like I do.
"The stage is where I live and come alive and act out all the things that go on in my life. It's not just what I do for a living, it's my shrink and my love affair. No one in my life has ever or ever will kiss me on the mouth like this lover called my relationship with my performance."

re: Your Musical-Shhh!

The theatre kids at my school are obsessed with Wicked, POTO, and Rent, so I don't even hang out with them a lot.

So I'll say pretty much every musical.

A lot of my non-theatre friends can, however, sing every song from Rocky Horror.

re: Your Musical-Shhh!

Hm, well majority of my friends probably couldn't name a musical besides RENT or Wicked if their life depended on it. I started bringing my huge collection of recording to certain friends' houses and attempting to introduce them, but they usually end up saying something like, "If I listen to one more second of this I'm going to die and you're never coming over here with this crap again." I guess it's not for everyone, that's why I'm glad there's BWW.com.

re: Your Musical-Shhh!

Well, I think the only reason my friends know of any show other than Phantom of the Opera is because of me, so basically anything. But especially lesser known ones, as I have played them some of the more mainstream ones that they might like, such as Wicked and Rent

All of them, I don't have Musical Theatre friends at my school.

But with my friends from camp, I would say I know Chess...

No one's heard of Jane Eyre but it's one of my favorites.

Most of my friends aren't theater people, so they aren't familiar w/ pretty much everything that I listen to. And my theater friends (except for two) aren't familiar with The Last Five Years or A New Brain.
