I just found a Duran Duran song with my name in it. Too late Marlene. These are where all these pronunciations of Marlene came from, bad 80's songs. Oy. But they all have sort of negative connotations.
It's one of my favorites from Radiohead. I'm not really a Radiohead fan, but their best songs are really great. Thom Yorke (the singer) said that he used the name Sarah in the song not because it had a huge personal significance, but he rather just liked the name.
And the other thing about the Phantom Lady was, Bert, she realized, in the city that never sleeps...
What did she realize, Kitten?
That all the songs she'd listened to, all the love songs, that they were only songs.
What's wrong with that?
Nothing, if you don't believe in them. But she did, you see. She believed in enchanted evenings, and she believed that a small cloud passed overhead and cried down on a flower bed, and she even believed there was breakfast to be had...
Where?
On Pluto. The mysterious, icy wastes of Pluto.
This is for the guy with the name Andrew on page 2... Your name is used on the show Easter Rising (music by Michael Arden), and one of the main characters name is Andrew, and the other guy sings a song about him that starts (and said elsewhere in the song, "Dear Andrew,"
In "Another Saturdurday Night in NY" from I Love You Because, its being sung to a Catherine. Really who needs more in life then being sung to by Joe Cassidy or Colin Hanlon...
So I was sitting in my cubicle today, and I realized, ever since I started working, every single day of my life has been worse than the day before it. So that means that every single day that you see me, that's on the worst day of my life.~Office Space
Floorboard's filled with baby toys, An' empty coke bottles an' coffee cups. Drivin' through the rain with no radio, Tryin' not to wake her up. Cell 'phone says "low battery", God, what if I break down? I'm just lookin' for an exit with a lotta lights, A safe little interstate town.
Just a cheap hotel, With a single bed, And cable TV: Is good enough for me an' Emily.
Some day, when she's old enough, She's gonna start askin' questions about him. Some kid at school brings his Dad for show an' tell, An' gets her little mind a-wonderin': "Where's my Daddy? Do I have one? "Does he not love me like you do?" Oh, maybe I'll find someone to love the both of us, An' I'll tell her when she's old enough to know the truth.
Will it break her heart? Will she understand, That I had to leave? That's what was best for me an' Emily.
That house was never clean enough; his dinner never warm enough. Nothing I did was ever good enough to make him happy. So, I guess, he gave me what he thought I deserved, But it would kill me if he ever raised his hand to her.
Big rigs are throwin' rain on my windshield, An' I feel like they're laughin' at me. Fin'lly the storm is lettin' up, An' the mornin' is breakin' free.
It's a brand new day, It's a second chance. Yesterday is just a memory, For me an' Emily. Ah.
Floorboard is filled with baby toys, An' empty coke bottles an' coffee cups. Least there's one good thing that he gave me, An' she's startin' to wake up.
Marleeene, I don't really know you, Oooh You're knee is in your avatar. Unless its someone else's knee, That would be creepy.
