I've always thought Jane Curtin was rather unappreciated. I don't know if it's because she tended to play "real" people more than outlandish characters, but she's never had a "Best Of" special or DVD and she's sometimes forgotten or glossed over when talking about the original cast. Here's to you, Jane!

I can't pick just one. I love classic SNL. Love the "Compulsion" sketch... and the Sweeney sisters are classic - "AND LIIII-IIIKE A BUHHRIDGE OHHHVERRRR TROUBLED WATAAAAAAR!!!"

And who can forget Nick the Lounge Singer? "Star Wars... if they should BAR WARS, please let these STAR WARS stayyy...."

Christopher Walken's The Continental is hilarious. I always loved how he would never take his eyes off the teleprompter.

God, there are so many. I love Dan Aykroyd, and Billy Crystal and Christopher Guest doing the "I hate when that happens" thing is amazing.

Phil Hartman--"Spreeken ze SASSY?!"

Jan Hooks was also wonderful, playing Corazon Aqino and, in one skit, Ann-Margaret.

"Zac is sweet as can be. He's very much just a sweet kid from California who happens to have a face that looks like it was drawn by Michelangelo, (if Michelangelo did anime)."

"Celebrating a birthday this week: Rene Descartes is 412! Do you know who he is? Then why are you watching this show? You could probably get into college and even get one of those job things. As for the rest of us; Amanda Bynes is 22! Yay!"

I also like Cheri as the little girl--Angelica I think was her name...

I think her name was Althea.

Of the ORIGINAL cast members, Jane Curtin has probably had the most dependable and successful career. She did Kate and Allie for four years, Third Rock for six years - that's damn good money.

Meanwhile, Laraine Newman occasionally shows up in a small role on TV, Dan Ackroyd really hasn't had a successful movie since he was nominated for an Oscar for Driving Miss Daisy, Chevy Chase is pretty much a joke, and Garrett Morris does crappy off-network sitcoms like Martin and the Jamie Foxx Show.

Of course, the two standouts of the original cast - Belushi and Gilda, are gone.

My all time favroite SNL performer was and will always be Gilda Radner! All of her characters had a heart and soul and you really felt like you knew them! I have a little of Emily Latella, Lisa Loopner, Judy Miller, Roseanne Rosannadanna the list goes on and on!

I adored the tv movie with Jami Gertz and every now and then I'll watch it. Its really a pretty good movie and I thought Jami Gertz was fantastic in it!

Mike Myers as Linda Richman ("Rhode Island, neither a road nor an island, discuss!") and as Dieter (especially when he'd pull out his shirt and say, "Now I am as happy as a little girl!")

Adam Sandler in pretty much everything...Operaman, Cajun Man, etc.

Chris Farley also in pretty much everything. I can't remember exactly, but that skit he did with Sandler where they're a married couple and Farley's the wife and he's reading out loud from Zagats...it's so damn funny!

Will Ferrell and Daryl Hammond in Celebrity Jeopardy...so hilarious.
Connery: (answering a question) "Craven Morehead"
Trebeck: Uh...who is Craven Morehead?
Connery: Apparently you are! BAHAHAHA!

Also can't forget about the cowbell skit. I got a fever...and the only prescription...is more cowbell!

"It's great that you can listen and be a shoulder to someone, but what about when someone doesn't need a shoulder? What if they need the arms or something like that? You can't just sit there and put everybody's lives ahead of yours and think that counts as love. You just can't. You have to do things."

Althea! Thanks Freckles...

I totally forgot Pat Stevens!

"My favorite book is VOGUE. I love to smell it."

My fave spots were when Jan Hooks was Corazon Aquino and Lithgow played Thatcher.

I also loved when Jan Hooks played the barfly in The People's Court sketch

And of course, The Church Lady and Wayne and Garth!

Nothing makes me laugh harder than Judy Miller. Just about anything Gilda did was riotous.
I also liked The LUVVAHS, the Jeopardy sketches, Janet Reno's Dance Party, and RICK RICK RICK. I laughed so hard the first time I saw that I cried.

Rachel Dratch as Debbie Downer! I will never get sick of that sketch! Never ever!

I totally forgot about her! I was so sad when she left, just because there wouldn't be anymore Debbie Downer.

She was called Colleen, and she was either autistic or had some sort of mental deficiency. She never spoke and scenes that she was in basically consisted of Colleen being plunked down in various everyday situations, where she'd twitch and jerk her head. The way I'm describing it makes it sound just awful, but rest assured, it was hilarious.

That actually sounds really, really, funny. God, this entire show need to be on DVD. Right now.

I totally agree. That was the La Lohan episode. Everyone including Rachel was dying in that sketch. Watching them try to shove waffles into their mouths to stop from laughing was sooo funny.
