Definatly "Freaks and Geeks" which was one of the most well written and funny shows of the 90s that ended long before it's time.

Does anyone remember the title of a show that ran in the late 80s about a pair of male roommates; one was a foreign exchanger.... I'm sure that was a very helpful description.... I saw one episode on a Christmas marathon on Nick at Nite....

Problem is "Perfect Strangers" ran for many years so it does not qualify as short lived

Perfect Strangers should be listed in the Classic Television thread, seriously.

i have one but can't remeber the title. I'm sure someone here will remeber it. It aired one season only a couple of years ago, starred Justin Bateman as a gay man sharing an apartment with a very heterosexual man and it was based on teh movie, Kiss Me, Guido.

Yes, that's it, Some Of My Best Friends. Tahtw as a pretty good show that had potential if it were given more of a chance. Unfortunately, I think the absence of a Grace-like female character made it less appealing to non gay audiences.

There is one show I remember from when I was younger that I sooooo very much loved I believe it was called Rags to Riches... it was like Annie, but with 5 girls being adopted by a rich guy instead of one... they would sing and dance... it was really good, but from what I remember might have only lasted one season. :)

Oh so many...I think my favorite is Out of This World. It was in the 80s and the girl Evie could freeze time and communicated with her dad stuck in outer space or something. I loved it. I also loved Zoe, Duncan, Jack and Jane. That was a few years ago on the WB and starred a pre-fame Selma Blair and Michael Rosenbaum. Cracked me up.

THE PRUITTS OF SOUTHAMPTON starring Phyllis Diller
The plot basically revolved around the Pruitt family living on Long Island. They live like royalty in a huge mansion (actually the Biltmore mansion in Asheville NC). Slight problem is that they are flat broke and owe millions to the IRS. Each episode involves Phyllis trying a new hair-brained scheme (think Lucy with a demonstrative laugh) to raise money & keep it from the IRS. As you can imagine, it all end in utter chaos. Phyllis Diller is hysterical in this series! Great supporting cast -- Billy DeWolfe, Reginald Denny, Richard Deacon, Gypsy Rose Lee, John Astin, and Marty Ingels. 35 years later I still remember this as an extremely funny series (or at least Phyllis was funny!!!).

That sounds like a great show. I love Phyllis Diller and wish I could see that. On a side note, i saw Phyllis guest star in an off Broadway show a few years ago it was called Pete & Keely's Reunion Show or something like that. The premis was a Steve and Edie type couple that do a reunion tv special after their divorce. Each week they had a difefrent corny old guest star, Joanne Worley, Charo and Phyllis were the three I can remember. Phyllis Diller has got to be the only person in the world who could still get a laugh using a joke that is 40 years old or so.

I just bought "My Big Fat Greek Life" on DVD...it's every episode considering there was only one season. lol But I wonder if they will put Bette on DVD? That would be nice.
I also liked that show that starred Nikki Cox and Stephanie Hodge...it was like an updated version of Married With Children, only the parents were divorced and then got back together.
I can't remember the name of it though. lol But the theme song was "Hit the road Jack."
