is anyone a bit worried about this remake? i actually own the original with lucille ball that is very funny, and im a bit worried it wont be nearly as good. anyone else feel the same?
When Rene Russo does family comedy, I automatically worry.
I'll always love the original; but the new one looks cute. Very much like "Cheaper By the Dozen." I think it will be a nice fluff film. Good for a new generation of family films, but I would hope parents would still introduce their children to the original.
I do enjoy Dennis Quade.
You know me. I adore those old films, especially 'Cheaper by the Dozen'. I'd kill to have that and 'Girl Crazy' on DVD.
I love 'Yours, Mine and Ours'.
Lucy's voice is lower than Henry's.
My favorite part was when Lucy's character gets drunk at dinner because the kids keep adding more and more alcohol to her drink. LOL
I think I'll go pull out my DVD and watch that movie.
I love the original and I was mad
as soon as I found out there was
going to be a remake. I don't think the
story works as well, set in modern
time. The new one looks bad to me.

I had no idea this was a remake. But the trailer alone goes beyond the realm of "worrying" and right into "slightly horrifying."
The "real" one is on TCM right now.
God, Lucy plays a wonderful drunk.
Lucy plays a wonderful anything.
I adore Lucy but I found her Santa in MAME very strange and disturbing.
LOL! Lucy has always loved catching toast flying out of a toaster.

Family fluff films make me want to vomit. Thinkin' I should skip this one.
The baby daughter looks very much like Drew Barrymore.
I'll have to do an IMDB search.
Adding: It's not.
You gotta love when the total of their 5 shopping carts full of groceries comes out to $126 and change. And I love the scene with Lucy and stubborn nun.
I am NOT going to see this. I love the original to death and nothing about the trailer looks remotely close to the original. No thanks.

The trailer contains some of the most forced comedy I've ever seen in my life.
On the brighter side, I am looking forward to Dennis Quaid's movie about the musician who stomped his wife to death in front of his daughter.
I'm willing to give it a try, It looks cute and I like Renne and Dennis so we will see.
As much as I love watching the original, I can't help thinking throughout the entire movie....birth control, people.
I always thought the movie was a perfect example of why spawning in great numbers is wrong. What the hell are you going to do if your spouse dies/flees/whatever?
Also, why don't the studios try doing special "re-releases" of original movies, instead of slaughtering their memory with crappy remakes? I'd go to the movie theater to see the original versions of Yours Mine and Ours, Guess who's coming to dinner, etc.
i saw the new one on opening night(i saw rent at 3:40, saw harry potter already,my sister wanted to see it so we went)
it wasn't as bad as i thought it would be(based on reviews)but it wasn't great, there were some funny parts, but it definately wasn't the greatest.
Okay, so yeah. :[ What I originally said...about the new one looking cute. I was wrong. I was SO wrong. I saw it tonight. It was beyond aweful.
Just So many things wrong with it.
It's not even one of those movies where you can sit back and just enjoy the korniness.
other than the fact that Rene Russo looks fabulous, I strongly suggest skipping this one.
