This kid is amazing. I applaud his moral convictions and willingness to stand up for what's right. His famous "My Two Moms" speech that he gave to the Iowa legislature last year moved me to tears.
Now, he's going after the Boy Scouts, one of the most blatantly homophobic groups I know. The quote from their representative ("Scouting maintains that is youth development program is not the appropriate environment to introduce or discuss, in any way, same-sex attraction," he wrote. "Parents and caregivers should have the right to decide when and how to discuss the issue with their children.") is pathetic, but shows just how backwards they are.
My question is this...do the Boy Scouts receive federal funding? If so, how do they get away with this legalized discrimination?

I highly recommend Zach's book, My Two Moms. He relates the Scout Law (below) to the values he was raised by. It's a fascinating read, and he's an incredible kid.
A Scout is:
Trustworthy, Loyal, Helpful,
Friendly, Courteous, Kind,
Obedient, Cheerful, Thrifty,
Brave, Clean, Reverent
