Zombies, vampires or werewolves?
#1Zombies, vampires or werewolves?
Posted: 7/25/09 at 2:59pmI know we have a lot of horror fans here (myself included), and after watching Bram Stroker's Dracula (1992) On Demand, I was curious as to which one you all think is the most badass, and why?

Have you ever met a werewolf or zombie you wanted to have sex with?
Case closed.

To be fair, I've never met a vampire either.
It is a good point, but I'm not sure wanting to have sex with "someone" makes them badass. I mean, I'd do Zac Efron, but...
Anyway, I figured vampires would be the most popular response, but I'm burnt out on the incredibly lame vampire culture that exists today with all the goth-dressing dweebs and their stupid names. Give me zombies any day.

Posted: 7/25/09 at 5:13pmI always imagined Remus Lupin to be way hotter than the movies portrayed him, but yeah, definitely vampires. Vampires can make snarky comments while fighting, and biting necks to suck blood is a better kill method than trying to eat brains.

Vampires are my favorite. (LOVE the 1992 Dracula.)
But I've never said no to a good zombie or werewolf either.

Posted: 7/25/09 at 7:43pmI'd have to choose a lady werewolf. Yes she'd put some monster scratches on my back while we were...ya know. But after the full moon she'd change back and wind up naked in the fetal position, in a pile of leaves in the forest. I could live with that.

Dude. Remus Lupin.

Posted: 7/25/09 at 8:10pmDefinitely werewolves. I think there's something so cool about someone living as an average human, and then transforming into something totally different at the drop of the hat. Vampires are always vampires, and zombies are always zombies, but werewolves can be normal people or wolves. And I like the emotional struggle that comes with that. With vampires and zombies, they're just dead guys with weird habits.

Posted: 7/25/09 at 8:25pmWow... you analyzed that! That is true, but I have to go with the only option that is completely mindless, has no emotions, and is ruthless... zombies FTW!

Me,too! There's either that, or the fluffy Twilight fangirls. And I've never found any vampire characters that didn't annoy me.

taz, nothing is scarier (except maybe dolls). So I couldn't even go there. I choose to ignore their existence.
Schmerg, your werewolf point is a good one. That's why they're a very close second in my opinion...they make me sad, though. We can all relate to regretting the night before.
I think zombies are the scariest, because their sole reason for existence is to feed off human flesh. They serve no other purpose, which is an antithesis to modern human desire (we all want to be regarded as useful). It's a weird existential thing, kind of like looking in a mirror at the most basic of human behavior. Vampires have too many other things to worry about, like tight vinyl body suits and sun intolerance. We get it, vampires. You're "hot". Stop feeling sorry for yourselves.
Yes, I have gotten in a heated argument with my roommate about this before. Please excuse my ridiculous over-analysis!

We can all relate to regretting the night before.
And we can relate to how werewolves tend to get a little foul-tempered when it's that time of the month...

Posted: 7/26/09 at 4:21pmWerewolves are definitely more badass than vampires and zombies, especially the ones in the Underworld movies.

Zombies. There's something cheesy and unthreatening about werewolves, and I've seen WAY too many vampire romance novels to be even vaguely convinced by them as a monster and not just some "sexual fantasy wish fulfilment for authors" thing.
I love the undead. And I LOVE that one of my favourite authors for teens is releasing a zombie novel in September! Also, y'all should read Cell by Stephen King 'cos it's really good. :3

Weez, I read Cell aftre I found out it was a zombie story.
I love a good zombie movie.
But I have to give werewolves a bonus point just for Lupin, alone...i love him.

#23re: Zombies, vampires or werewolves?
Posted: 7/27/09 at 4:48pmSomething about a Mummy just makes me laugh. Yet, even they beat the vampires and werewolves in my opinion. However, any monster that could possibly be talked out of killing you is not nearly as scary as something that has no mind, no emotions, just a lust for flesh.

"something that has no mind, no emotions, just a lust for flesh."
Sounds like my last trick.
