anyone know this movie?

I tried an search and couldn't find the name of it.

Late 80's (I think), starred Julianne Moore as a woman disillusioned with her life so she goes to live in this community of new age people who live a positive, life affirming existence. Soemone was telling me about it, they couldn't remember the name of the movie either. They said it was very inspiring.

Yeah, I had already looked and didn't see anything that seemed to match teh description. I'm prettysure it was Julianne Moore beacsue the friend who told me about it is a JM fan. I think the movie also has something to do with her becoming ill and depressed.

Sounds like "Safe," which is a fascinating movie by Todd Oldham about a woman who finds herself allergic to everything in life and ends up having to go to a new age-y retreat for the "environmentally ill." A very odd, interesting, slightly static, but very compelling film and Moore is terrific.

That doesn't sound like SAFE to me. SAFE was released in 1995 and while she did go to live in a "new age community", it was anything but a "life affirming" experience. That movie isn't what I would call inspiring, either. In fact, it scared the SH*T out of me.
