I have an audition in two weeks for "I SING." It is a relatively unknown musical by eli bolin. It has fabulous music. Sort of reminds me of the show friends set to a musical. 2 girls 3 boys living together and going through lifes challenges.

I told the director right off the bat that I am only 19 and the show calls for recent college grads. So i'm a few years off. He said this is not a problem. I have worked my rear end off prepareing the songs and i feel good about the audition.

BUT not only am I 19...I look younger. I am cursed with babycheeks. Blah.

I really really want to land a role ... does anyone have any advice on how i can nail an audition like this. How to come off as older...something...

thoughts ideas?

well, there is alot of things you could do to look "older". I mean.. makeup? I'm not really sure. Maybe the director will have an idea if he casts you.

Good luck!

Just act the part. It is much more important that you appear to be older with your actions than actually looking that way.

Also check out UrInTown on Youtube they do an amazing version on I Sing the song. They are University of Michigan MTs. Absolutely blows me away.

i was actually just watching that video on youtube. They are all incredibly talented.

thanks for the advice

i think this show is a little more a challenge for me because i have never personally seen the whole show performed. You know how if you audition for other shows you have somethign to base your peformance on. This show is a debut in boston so i really have to make it my own.

which i'm actually very excited about :)
