Eh. I'M the one who's been saying McGovern all along, although you say it as an insult and I say it as a bittersweet memory I do NOT wish to re-live.
McGovern was idealistic, progressive and against a war that was clearly wrong. Yet somehow he lost to a nightmarish reactionary warmonger.
This time, the dumb left wing of the Democratic party has decided that Hillary is the warmonger to defeat, not McCain. And they're backing an idealistic antiwar progressive who is entirely unelectable.
That's why I pray for Clinton/Obama...and still hold out hope for Gore.

Posted: 4/24/08 at 5:56pmAlthough I was totally at odds with Mc Govern, I respected him because he believed in his views. Obama is opportunistic & is an empty suit. I doubt Obama will not change some positions as we get to the election.

PalJoey, Obama is not anti-war and you know that. He's just anti dumb wars. And he's usually right when it comes to them.
As for Hillary being a warmonger, well, which one of them is going around acting as if Iran is going to nuke Israel any day now? Who's releasing provocative fear mongering videos right out of Karl Rove's playbook? She DOES sound like a warmonger lately.
Frankly, I'm going to trust the guy who speaks to us pragmatically and thoughtfully and not the woman who seems to view military action as a strategy to win voters. Haven't we had enough of that?

I reject your characterization as nothing more deranged theories.
Creepy ones, actually.

Posted: 4/24/08 at 10:41pmSpeaks to you pragmatically? I always felt Hillary was the more pragmatic of the two. Obama seems to go for all the self-help preaching that the Oprah fanbase loves.
