"belly button" piercings...

this may seem gross but, i lost a lot of weight and am finally daring to get a belly button ring.. I know it sounds stupid but, i'd like a real clean place that knows what they are doing...if anyone in NYC has a belly ring..got it done in NYC and thought good things of the place can you please name a few?

No one is posting and I feel bad. I would say to do some calling around. Some on site inspection to make sure everything is clean. And maybe go to a mall somewhere and look for one of those little 'trinket' shops that sell earrings and nucleases and stuff and ask an employee, (if they're company doesn't do piercing) who they would recommend.

I only have experience in Philly, but I've been in the one on Canal (I think it's called Sacred something) and liked it, and I've heard good things about Cassiopeia (sp) on 8th St.

i got my ears pierced at the Gauntlet on 5th avenue back in 1995... don't know if they are still around, but they were very sanitary... oh! and congratulations on the weight loss!!! i know how hard the process is having lost alot of weight myself...

I just got my nipple pierced! If I had read this before we could have gone together

I went to a place in the W. Village on Christopher Street. Very clean...and the woman doing the piercing was great. I have the name of the place at work...I think it was called "The Smoke Shop" or something classy like that.
